Are you kidding me!?

I'm already overseas and wanted to stay overseas but, working at a college might be a good enough reason to go back to the states for awhile.

Your thoughts?

i didnt read everything, but im guessing ur up for PCS and these are ur options?
whats wrong with them, theyre not on a base, and it shouldnt be that bad to be a rotc instructor,
are you maried children, your situtation if you dont mind me asking,
i live in san antonio and austin aint that bad, way better than SA,
Univ of Arizona is a good party school from what I hear,

Nah I still have 12 months left, my cycle is in Feb.

There's nothing wrong with them at all, I just wasn't aware that we had such a wide palette of places we could work. I'm 25, single, no kids so Iwould fit right in if I decided to do it.

Are you at Lackland?

Wow the assignments can make or break your career. Dont think you are going to go to one of these schools and have fun w/ the ladies because that will mess youup for life.

Sounds fun can't wait until I can re-class. That's if I decide to re-enlist or get commissioned.

Nah I'm in Italy. In Rome

To homie up above, I love the AF. Can't really compare the navy to it...totally different.

Oh at Aviano? I want Europe so bad fam. Also to violet24 I like the AF. I just hate the base I'm at now.

Nah...Aviano is like 8hrs away. I'm at a NATO College, only 5 Air Force here, I love it.

I'm seriously considering joining the Air Force within the next few months. Looking into air traffic controller but i heard it's hard to get into. What's the process of going about doing this and how hard is boot camp for Air Force?

I'm currently an Air Force ROTC cadet. About 8 months away from pinning on 2nd Lt.

The cadre that work at our detachment at San Diego State love it... working with cadets and not to mention living in SD for a bit. You got some pretty nicechoices there (as far as location).

Might want to ask a recruiter homie, I have no idea about that career field or what the modern day boot camp is like. Came in back in '03...alot of changessince then.

Wow, we have all kinds of people here on NT.

If you don't mind, could you desribe a typical duty day for them? Just curious.

What job is 3A,i do my cross train in May 10, starting to look now what to get into. Currently Security Forces the worst job in the air-force imo. stationed inturkey now.

Damn...I definitely joined the wrong service.

Those orders are orders are probably something I will never see in the Navy.
smh.gif
Like the dude said I think I would go with the University of AZ. BTW,what's your MOS or job rating (not sure what you guys call that in the AF)?

I'm tired of being enlisted though...I need to push on my Officer package and get the ball rollin. I need to get paid.

IMO you should take out the detailers info.

3A (now 3D0X1 as of 1 Nov) is Knowledge Operations. Basically the middlemen between the user and the help desk.

Yeah, SF does suck. Hard. I was an augmentee for 30 days and got an A15

it always surprises me the diversity of NT, good stuff,

Well, typically the NCOs there are to handle paperwork and any logisitical issues for the cadets. Cadets usually see you about their cadet file, direct depositif they are on scholarship, transcripts, transferring, career fields for the juniors a year away from commissioning, base assignments for the seniors, summerprograms the cadets are eligible for, security clearances, administer tests such as the TBAS, AFOQT, and language testing, etc.

Typical day at my detachment for them.... they get in anytime between 5-8 am depending on the day. If they get in early, its because they have work to do orthey are attending PT for the cadets. They usually do some work, a few cadets will see you in a given day about any of the stuff mentioned above, get an hourto do some self PT (or you and the rest of the staff will do some PT together), get a lunch break, do some more work, and they are usually gone by 3-4 pm. Ondays where cadets have classes, you might attend and observe what the cadet leadership is doing, and offer your 2 cents.

I can't elaborate on what the "working" part is, cause it may vary from taking care of cadet issues to whatever your CC passes down for you todo. You usually have 4 officers there, and 2-3 NCOs, so its not a big working environment.
