Nt computer guys check in PC

my question is about sound on my pc i have laptop that has an hdmi port on it i plug in the hdmi port so that it plays through my tv but the problem is thesound only plays through my laptop speakers what could be the problem (i have vista) i went to the sound and selected it but it still doesn't play ive evendisabled my computer speakers but still no sound from my tv speakers there is an option to test the sound through the tv and i "test" it and it worksfine like it will play i beep or something out of the speakers so does anybody have an ideas what could be the problem

Go to the sounds menu. Its that little speaker shapped thing in the bottom right corner and right click. Hit play back devices and what eva your external portis(you might have to play around with this) by right clicking and you should see set as defalut device. There you go
