Also, my 26 year old sister had my 2 year old neice twerking online, a few months ago. I don’t even follow my sister but needless to say, I wasn’t shocked in the least bit.

Well said brother! I too resent ma dukes+ gramama for the thrashing I took as a youngin...

I got a 5 year old lil boy...many things that I woulda got spanked for growing up, I talk it out with him...I take a knee, get on his level so we’re eye to eye, and I ask why? Ask what was he hoping to gain, let him know that ain’t how he gets his way...we write sentences and look up definitions..i make sure he understands I’m only trying to help him, and when he corrects said bad behavior he gets praised, positive affirmation..

I grew up in a house full of women, grandma, 3 aunts and my momma, I was the youngest...my grandfather was my father figure and raised us all...allll my female relatives spanked me for everything, my grandfather never hit me once...we talked it out...

I choose to follow his lead..violence was always the answer where I’m from...be it home or the streets...

I think that toxic masculinity and hyper aggression that young men get lcoming from where I’m from is a detriment to young black men...I’m here to break that cycle with the young men who’s lives im in, and I try and help them utilize their brain when the shhh hits the fan...

I think There’s a line between beating and whooping. I don’t consider what’s in the video as beating or overly excessive . Got a handful of good hits with the belt and that is that .

I was Never beat but I vividly remember 2 times I got a whooping and I never made those 2 mistakes again lol

Also not to make it an race issue but it seems like black parents are more Ok with whooping , while white families are not .

My brother who is married to a white woman never whoop their kids. One is like 5 years old and a good kid but bad as hell, broke 2 TVs throwing stuff at them , hits , etc.
