To an extent. It's still important to get a solid foundation during your undergrad, so you can carry that into your professional career. Chances are you may not use much you learn, but it's still important to get that foundation down.

Yes it does especially if you have any plans on going to grad school.
Having a @!%$%$ GPA and getting into a decent grad school is an anomaly as it is all about numbers and rankings at that point and schools don't want to mess that up by taking someone w/ a sub 3.0 GPA.

you can make it with or without school
you just have to have a plan, be dedicated, and have a strong work ethic.
i rather make 5 figures now, go to school and make 6 figures for the rest of my life
than start at 5 figures now, continue to work and still make 5 figures for the rest of my life..
for my situation, school allows me to make this a possibility..
can you say the same for yourself?
sure some can turn a 5 figure job into a 6 figure job without school...
i just know more people that do it with school
at the same time..you have to decide if the career you want
will come with the lifestyle your trying to live. which is a whole different discussion

high school grad with a 6 figure job.
most of my friends went to college, graduated and have jobs that have nothing to do with their degree because they didn't like what they were doing.
Im not saying its bad but just make sure what you go to school for is what you want to end up doing afterwards.

Just depends on what you are trying to do. Certain jobs need a certain degree to start in that field while others may rely more on experience than actual schooling

I definitely know a few people like you... but not a lot.
If you don't go to school at least go to a college or something to learn a skill trade.

Yes and no... I know a lot of people who landed great jobs completely irrelevant of their major... I've also talked to employers who turn away applicants with undecided major, for whatever reason..
You paying for it.. Might as well just pick a major... A major > No major..

Two of my friends from hs decided they weren't going to go to college and they are now making 6 figures a year (both 20 years old)
one of them took over his dads hotel businesses, so he didn't really have to work for much.
the other started his own website for something dealing with stocks and advertisement, can't remember the site but I know he put a lot of time and effort into it....

The bolded one doesn't even count... That is just being fortunate to have a dad making enough money and handing him a job.. Had his dad not owned a hotel business he'd still be a front desk greeter...
The second one at least busted his %%@ to make 100K

federal job with the govt. did my military time before that. so i guess in some instances job experience is a great substitute for education. Depending on the job, do you want someone proven or someone just out of school? If your trying to save money then by all means go for the person who just graduated. Now could i get some jobs without an education? of course not. Im just saying for me it worked out with nothing more than a high school diploma.

yeah i know and the worst part was that a few months ago I heard he was about to drive a few hotels down to the ground with some bad business moves had his dad not stepped in to advise him....
