Time to start applying for jobs for when I graduate in April..
I have experience in my field, but not as much as I'd like to be competitive with other graduates.

How bad would it be to risk having a friend (or even myself?) pose as a small company that I worked for that is no longer in operation...

Anyone do this before?

I actually did it for a job once but I knew they most likely wouldn't call, I would never risk it with a career though

Edit: Forgot my friend faked his too except they actually did end up calling and he put his own number but he didn't have caller ID so he had no idea what to do cause he wasn't prepared

you'd probably be able to get away with it if it was for a small job, but i agree not a career job

Having relatives who own companies ftw.
Not my case, however.

Ive "kind of" faked it. At my old job me and my direct supervisor didnt get along too well and I ended up getting fired. I had the job for 8 years though so it was a major portion of my entire work experience. I used friends that work at the company for references, and listed a supervisor from a different department as my direct sup :/

Any legit job includes that in there background check.
..usually they have a company who checks it out for them, most of the time u can put whatever then if the place can't reach the "employer" u might have to show a tax form to prove it, again just for a real job tho.
