if you have a license in your state, that means it's illegal to bring your gun to any other state unless you also get a license there? or does it depend onthe state, or what? thanks

It depends on your state.
Most state licenses allow you to carry your gun into other states if they meet similar standards for permits.
Your state goverment website should have the states listed that you are also permitted to carry in.

yes. most states have their own laws.

it depends on the state your license was issued in.....some states have agreements with other states that allow their citizens to carry weaponsinto other states...My michigan CCW allows me to carry in 13 states I think...

so a search for CCW+interstate for a full list..

Yes, I used to all the time. However, I risked jail time everytime I did it. There is NO concealed carry in DC. They just were allowed to own handguns in theDistrict once that draconian law was repealed. I used to keep a handgun at my fiance's house, but even that was pushing the laws.
