Alright, I've never seen any of the star wars movies. I always here the movie referenced but I never get any of it.

I was browsing amazon for the blu rays and noticed that there was an original trilogy and also a prequel trilogy. My question is do I need to watch both trilogies, or can I get by just watching one? And if all I need to watch is one, which one?

Thanks in advance.

Cliffs:

- I'm a star wars padawan (think I used that right)

- First or Second trilogy

For your troubles, pics of my wife:

Watch the original trilogy if you want to see really AWESOME movies.

However the new trilogy will help you get some of the reference to things like Jar Jar oh btw the new trilogy has Natalie Portman :eek :eek :eek

Technically the new trilogy is the past and the older trilogy is the world after the new trilogy. Correct order to watch it, is new trilogy to old trilogy.

^ Do I need to watch the first in order to understand the second? Please avoid any and all spoilers.

Amazon has the complete set for just under $100, think I might pull the trigger.

Edit: So watch the second trilogy and then go back and watch the first?

You could, most people have done it the other way around, due to time gap in film production. Or you could start at episode I and piece it together. I think episode I would be the middle of the story, just keep it in mind.

Watch the original trilogy first.. Episodes IV, V, and VI. Then watch I-III.

I'd just watch them I-VI....

Also, don't let annoying old Star Wars fans ruin the new trilogy for you. It's actually very solid.

I think you should watch the original trilogy first (4-6 darth vader)

I watched the prequel trilogy first (1-3 annakin) and they're great movies, espeically episode 3, i think its the best starwars

but in a way watching the prequel trilogy first ruined the originals for me. its so hard to watch all that crappy technology and sit through the entire movies after watching the newer star wars without getting bored.

not saying that the og 4-6 darth vader movies weren't legit :hat, but it kinda spoiled me watching the prequels first.

That's the main thing I was worried about. I get bored very easily and I could very much see myself deading it after watching the second trilogy.

Guess I'll just watch them in the order they released.

i dont care what people say episode II is the best one. followed by V and VI

episode II the best? no wayyyyyyyy...I'd take 1 and 3 over 2

...I wonder how different it would be for someone to watch I-VI for their first time watching the movies.
