Right now I'm pretty set on transferring to a university in Washington DC and I've narrowed my list down to the George Washington University andHoward University.

GW would be a great place to build bonds for a political/law future and It has a pretty decent program (from what I'm to believe) for pre-law/law.

Howard, however, is a school that I don't have much knowledge about apart from the fact that I meet (and then some) all the requirements for a transferstudent. And Howard is about $24K less than GW so that's a huge plus. And being that Howard is an HBCU, does the campus have a very diverse scene?

What do you all think?

Come on fam you know how much HBCU'S are looked down upon on NT, hell everything regarding black people is looked down upon on NT

Yea i said it.

But do you fam, dont worry about what everyone else says. Its your money at the end of the day

I'm saying, Howard's in DC also, so shouldn't I be able to build similar bonds at that school as opposed to GDub? I'm looking for theopinions from NT'ers who know a thing or two about HBCU's or GW. I don't care about dudes who look down on them. Salty aces.

I'm pretty sure GW covers a large chunk of the cost of attendance through aid almost exclusively of what your parents are making.

I hate these answers. Fam, if I knew the right answer, I wouldn't ask the question. I clearly stated that I don't know much about Howard so I'mlooking for advice from those who do know abot the institution.

Based on grants/scholarships or will I have to take out a few loans?

Do they have good scholarships/grants based on need?

I got in to Oregon, but it's not very practical for me to move to the other end of the country. My dad (the #$@@#* that he is) convinced me that itwasn't that great of an idea because I'd be leaving my mom all alone in Ga (I'm her only child). Plus if anything happens to me, I'll be allalone over there because I literally know of no one in the state. It's still a fall back plan, but no longer plan A.

I'm pretty sure it's heavily grant based.

Don't know much about all that, but i'm from the area and it's definitely an elite school. Its law school is top ten in the nation.

i guess i could give advice too...i would go to GW...the price is more, but you'll get much more/better experience in the field probably...more experience>>> better jobs and quicker. good luck.

That's a definite plus. I can bet the intern programs they offer at GW are at some great firms.

I'm pushing more for GW, but if I can get practically the same experience for roughly $25K less, then that's not bad. I just want some kind of inputfrom NT.

I was accepted to Howard and visited there....

I decided to go to another school but I really liked Howard....

The campus is "around the way" and the buildings are old.....

But the females are on point and it's party's all the time....

They have good connections with employers and a respected name...

It's a good school....Just visit and check it out for yourself.

I would go to GW. It's a way better school, especially if you want to into law.

GW is the better school by FAR....Not only that GW is the most expensive school in the nation if I remember right.

either there's not a lot of people repping/feeling Howard on NT, or GDub is the obvious choice.

I go to Howard, but have been/partied at GW plenty of times. I guess it depends what your looking for. IMO Howard would have a much better 'collegeexperience'. and don't listen to NT'ers when they talk about HBCUs because frankly, Howard is a breed of their own. Someoene already mentioned theconnections you get at Howard, depending on your major they can take you a long way.

GW...i would still say go to Oregon to expierence something totally new.
