You plan on saying what city you live in?

That's the biggest determining factor that you haven't mentioned.

doesn't matter how much money you have saved up unless you have some form of steady income.

use craigslist to find other people who want roommates.

Everyone can be a great roommate. You just must accept your fellow brother in your heart.
A roof alone cannot shelter your soul. You must seek higher consciousness.
You must understand that money is just a tool to control your life. You must revolve yourself around it.
Women are a wonderful part of life. You must understand how to live in their presence. This could be a transformative moment in your life.
May life bless you, young man.

What? Didn't you want broad answers to your broad questions?

Give some specifics...

saving up 4g's just to move out? Just have a steady job and you're good. As far as living with women goes, if it's your girl, you gotta write down an established set of rules and chores that you can follow strictly. Significant others can think it's cool to let the dishes in the sink pile up for weeks just cause you're down with each other.

If you are planning on living with a random chick that you don't know too well then things will be a little easier as a stranger won't take advantage of you as much.

If you are planning on moving in with a homie and his girlfriend. DO NOT DO IT. Simple as that.

You better start looking for places soon because school is RIGHT around the corner so places will be filling up quick.

Also if this is your first time living away from home, think twice about signing a year long lease. Nothing can be worse than being stuck in a place that you don't want to be for that long. Peep craigslist on the daily, check your local newspaper classified ads.

Before you move into your new crib, take DETAILED pictures of everything! Bathroom, sinks, carpet condition, etc. Landlords will try and !$@@ you over, it's a given. You will prolly have to pay a security deposit of like a grand and you'll wanna get all that back if you move out so make damn sure that everything is in working condition and have proof that it is. Also if day to day things breakdown DO NOT HESITATE to call the landlord and tell them whats up. The dishwasher starts acting up, tell then man guickly and they'll fix it free of charge. You def don't want them taking that outta your deposit in the end.

Anyways I'm ranting so best wishes and good luck

they were pretty direct questions. How much should I have saved, and had anyone lived with a woman before.

Thanks calibeebee & Mo.

If you have a steady job, you don't need to save up 3k.

As long as you have enough for first month's rent, plus security deposit, plus moving expense, you should be good.

The only word of advise that I can give so you can get along quite well with a female roommate is: never forget to put the toilet seat down after you use it!
