NT Nerds, can you be too close to a WiFi router?

Long story short, when I'm using my laptop on my desk it sits about 2-3' from the wifi router. I've noticed lately that my connection will be very intermittent and just stop loading things. However, it says I'm still connected. My speeds are good when I do speed tests on various websites. I've also tried to clear the DNS. I'm stumped. I've tried ethernet, but I think my ethernet cable is too old and gives similar issues.

Right now I'm using my laptop about 8' away.

I'm stumped

HP DV6 laptop

Motorola Cable Modem with Wifi N router built in

Cable internet

try new cables. i had same problem and the little silver thing that the cables are connected to didnt work anymore

Yea try new cables connecting the modem to router if you have. Other than that the new router. But remember placement is important. Routers have a mushroom affect and also other devices can interfere with it. So change it to somewhere else to see if that helps.

if your internet works good on other wireless devices, then its your laptop
