Should I stay away? anybody here ever bought a vehicle with a salvaged title?....

I would stay away like the plague. I forgot the guideline, but I think if a car is damaged to more than 3/4 of its value..it would be deem salvage.

I have already googled it, I was just wondering if any nt'ers have had any personal experience dealing with a salvage title?

Why do people say that. Yet when someone ask for "Schooling" on Jeans, phones etc. people jump at the chance to add something. We are acommunity, where people come to ask opinion and advice.

OP. It really depends, I personally would not buy one. But if you must look at the frame of the car to see how badly it was damaged.

Most of NT in the General section is like 15. keep thatin mind.

OP I wouldn't buy one unless I have a mechanic look at it and get report of what happened to the car.

I'd have to have a very competent mechanic look at it. I'd also have to know why it has that title. Two of the most important things you need to watchfor are frame and/or water damage.

My first car was a salvaged vehicle...and I didn't even know it. I bought it off ebay from someguy who said it rolled down a hill (the front end was smashed up)....what he failed to tell me was that it was previously reported as salvaged. Somehow, Imanaged to register the car in New Hampshire and Ontario, Canada without it showing up as Salvaged. When I moved to Florida, they said it was salvaged...eitherway, I was happy with the car. It served its purpose. If I could do it again, I would.

I now know a bunch of people up here who would easily make the salvage title "disappear",so reselling isn't a concern. But yea, it's an easy way to get a decent vehicle for real cheap.

Just gotta do a bunch of %+*+ to get it to pass safety tests. Other than that, it'sharmless.....just make sure you have a GOOD mechanic with you, or if you know about cars, you can check it out easily b4 you buy. Frame damage is not alwayseasy to fix

sometimes you can find a bargain on a salvaged car that will run better than a brand new one.
sometimes it'll fall apart right when you drive it outta the lot.

it all depends, i would avoid unless i knew the person/what happened to the car 100%.
