for guys that play with locals, i had a quick question.

ever have an issue with mis-posted lines?

after watching the pathetic display put on by Clemson on Saturday, I went to bet the 2H line thinking there was no way that Clemson would continue to play so terrible in the 2nd half after coaching adjustments. The line posted at +7.5 Clemson, which I thought was a bit odd considering they were down by 24 to an unranked NC State team, but I didnt think twice and put my bet in. Clemson ended up squeaking it out and stayed even with NC State in the 2H so I won my bet. I logged in and checked my bet history and it was showing my 2H bet as a winner. I log in today to check my record for the weekend, and the bet went all Keyser Soze and its as if it never existed. After doing some research on vegasinsider, I was able to find the historical lines and saw that most books had the 2H line at -7.5 Clemson, not the other way around. Obviously someone entered it incorrectly in the system, and it wasnt caught until almost a full day (if not 2) later.

Now I know that most books have a standing rule that all bets on obvious mis-posted lines are null and void. I just dont know if this fits the bill as being "obvious". Now my only gripe is that, had Clemson not pulled it out and covered the +7.5, I dont know if the book would have credited me back for the loss and still voided the bet. Have you guys ever had a winning bet voided after the fact? I'm not tryin to pick a fight with my bookie over a $30 bet, but its the principle of the matter.

Im itching to put some action on the Chiefs tonight +16.5... I never trust NFL lines more than 2 scores.

Anyone else on this game?

Considering +17.5 on my book.

I have Pats -2 in a teaser. Trying to hit that middle, but I shouldn't be greedy, it'll come back and bite me in the....

Mojo - That's a very iffy thing, I mean, I see what you mean, had it not hit, do u still get your money back? From a marketplace standpoint, it was their mistake and they should honour it, it wasn't your fault, you are the consumer. Definitely a close judgement thing. You should ask your bookie what the policy was on the people who lost the play and how would they differentiate if it was an 'error' or not. If more people win than lose, is it an 'error'? or the other way around.

bookie came through like a champ!  after minimal discussion, he said he would credit my account for the $30.  he didnt know about anything funny happening with that game, and at first thought that i just forgot to place the bet.  i mean im not a big player ($25 = 1unit for me), but i do spread it out and place anywhere from 30-40units of play on avg a week.  I cant imagine he wants to lose that account over lunch money.

Literally everyone is on Memphis. Just makes you think Vegas might want that.

you bet through your local bookie, but you check your account online? Kinda confused there.

Anyway, my local always honors whatever lines/odds he texts me. So in case he sends out a wrong line, he doesn't void the bet. Most legit locals aren't shady like that.

Most local bookies have websites now.  I have three bookies and all have a different website.

Yep, they use a website, but payouts are in person and in cash.
in other news, I'm GOING IN on UH -3 against TULSA (don't tail me, this is a homer pick, I'm a cougar, and this is our magical BCS season, plus we'll win, easily). Just a fair warning.
