***$$$-NT Sportsbook Thread vol.2- Props props props props props props... EVERYBODY!

My bets are locked in. All Two units and one parlay with all included for one unit.
Detroit +3.5
Dallas -3
New England -7

2-2 if you count in the parlay, but I ended up dropping an additional 3 units on the Patriots so I came out well ahead tonight. I'm convinced that that Dez fumble did the Cowboys in.

I never said I was going to put up my whole paychecks. I'm new to this and I was just asking for advice....

Ya know I remember my first time at the sports book, so I'll offer you a few words of advice. First and foremost, the straight wager is your bread and butter play. Parlays, teasers, etc are the icing on the cake.

Also, if you're serious about supplementing your income wagering, you must have a predetermined bankroll. If you're just playing "for fun" or "to make the games more interesting" then ignore the previous sentence.

2 unit play:

West Virginia - 2

1 unit plays:

Washington - 14
Utah/Colorado over 50.5

Parlay (1 unit):

All of the above

Its more supplementing my income. My original plan was to deposit $10-25 per week and take small risks on parlays since the reward more than a straight up bet. I have a 5 game parlay set today. I risked $15 in hopes of winning $350. If I'm able to get lucky I wouldn't deposit any funds. I'd try to use my winnings to make more.

Parlays are a bookies best friend (Trust me, I know this from experience)  Anything above 3 game parlays is giving your money away. Even if you bet small, it will eventually add up to a big loss. With that said..

My bets:

Cincy U -13

West Virginia -1.5

Ohio St. -4

Shiiiii...Check my history! For the most part you're right though. During baseball season I make a killing off of parlays.

Yeah ive mostly bet parlays. Im up, but not a ton. Maybe i should start doing individual games more often.

Some of the parlays you post up are straight nasty. If I had the bankroll I would be a little more balsy on parlays. Still though 651 :nthat:

Do you guys think its a good idea to mix sports on a single ticket?

I want to pick Arizona State, South Florida and Thunder, Grizzlies tonight.

Yeah, when my bankroll is high enough I do my parlay along with each of those teams included in an individual bet. Great way to hedge my parlay. On average I do 5 team parlays and if I lose it's usually only one or two games, so those individual bets really come in handy.

That's what it is though. I dropped a few hundred in my sportsbook account and just did parlay after parlay until one hit. When it did, then I had enough bankroll to do a few parlays a day along with betting each of those individually. I miss more than I hit (not lately though  ), but when I hit, it's for $$$, allowing me to cash out and repeat the cycle.

If someone does a parlay I'd recommend starting with two or three teams to get your dollars up so you can start doing 4 or 5-teamers consistently. I've been really into betting for about 7 years now though, so I know my "system" if you will.

Last year I deposited $1500 and told myself if I lost it all I would have to wait until next football season to make another $1500 deposit. After football season last year I doubled my money and lost nearly all my winning playing NCAA basketball. One thing I learned was don't bet teams that you cheer for. SDSU and UNC killed me in march madness last year lol

Basketball is tough man. I'm giving it another go this year, but mainly with NBA. If I do NCAA it's the Pac 12 because I'm familiar with all those teams. Garbage time in basketball is a mofo for bettors. And I only bet the Vikings or the Wolves now when I feel they're undervalued or if I feel the bookmakers are missing something. You have to be honest with yourself and extremely objective, which can be hard.

west Virginia did everything to give that Gm back to Iowa st :lol:{

I don't mess with college bball unless it's pk or very low. Excessive fouls mess up the bet

I took the under due to heavy wind. That last quarter had me shook. That WV defense ACTUALLY came through.

And 651 I'm with you on basketball especially if it's a close game. I took the over in last night's Michigan game and thought it wouldn't cover. It barely covered from all those free throws off intentional fouls in like the last minute.

Gentlemen, yes the allure of parlays is indeed STRONG. Those of you familiar with Vegas know that almost EVERY SPORTSBOOK offers HUGE contests where a few dollars can yield you six figures. The odds of hitting multiple team parlays is heavily stacked against you.

If you're in it to make a profit, you must make straight wagers. Here's a scenario we are all familiar with;

Multiple team parlay TEAM A,B,C,D.

TEAM A WIN
TEAM B WIN
TEAM C WIN
TEAM D............LOSS.

If you only played this parlay, you're done.
If you played every game straight plus the par, you're up 1 unit.

Yes, ML (moneyline) pars do cash more often than spread pars, but in the long run straight wagering prevails.

And please fellas NEVER PLAY THE JERSEY.
