Since football season is coming to a close, any tips on basketball? Seems like the spreads are always on point, with it all deciding on the final minutes (FT's and all). Which seems to be my problem.

Yea they do but they don't post the lines until around 1am est...games usually be between 4:30am - 6:45am ...think it's the cup final now..not sure

Nothing is sticking out to me in football :frown:

Really? Maybe I'll try and help...

WVU: The forcast for their game against Syracuse calls for snow. First indication is points, points, and more points. When it snows, it heavily favors passing offenses. DB's are not nearly as quick at reacting to passes with such slippery footing. Both teams have future NFL QB's so passing won't be a problem. Lean the over? Eh...I think the best bet here is WVU solely because of their dynamic weapons that don't include Geno Smith. The second I saw Tavon Austin line up at running back and saw how successful that worked...I saw shades of Percy. Tavon is damn near unstoppable lining up everywhere on the field and I think Syracuse struggles mightily trying to figure that out. Stedman Bailey is Geno's favorite receiver and actually led WVU in receiving. He's a very good route runner (great for snow games) and he's a shifty guy once the ball gets in his hands. Syracuse has a guys that are good, but not like this. I think the playmakers are the difference here. WVU was easy to me. Espcially since I feel like the public is leaning more and more towards Syracuse.

Navy: Can I be honest?...I've hardly watched a down of Navy football. Maybe a few series versus Army, but nothing substantial. C'mon though...I've been watching football for years and one thing that has never changed is the military schools and their triple option attacks. A few things you can always count on from Navy...Discipline, commitment to the run, and effort. I also really like Navy's coach. I don't want to attempt to spell his name off the top of my head, but his approach and demeanor is very consistent and given the variables I mentioned above, Navy is always a good bet to play well in a Bowl game, let alone cover as 14 point dogs. ASU faces a melting pot of offenses in the pac-12, but nothing even close to this. They've had time to prepare, but practice vs. the real thing with something you've never seen before is not even close to the same. The Sun Devils are a solid team and heading into a good direction, but I don't believe them to be anything special to win against a Navy team by more than 14.

I've actually watched navy quite a bit this year.....they switched qbs about midway through the season I believe....went from a senior to a freshman....the freshman is GOOD and will be hell these future years....what concerns me however is that they're playing a decent major conference school....

13 1/2 points is a lot of points and the public is on navy.....its a no play for me

also concerned about navy stopping arizona st offense

Oregon State: While Texas is whoopin' it up and some staying out past curfew, the Beavers are doing what they always do...Staying under the radar and prepping themselves to come out and punch Texas in the mouth. Oregon State is an extremly solid football team and I still don't think people realize that the Beavers got all the way up to #7 in the country. Only thing that worries me here is I'm not sure what OSU does at QB and a split approach is something I hate. Either way though, I'm siding with the grit and toughness of a Beaver team that is never ever to be counted out. Texas is probably more worried about other things and when it comes to football, may be looking to next year. After all...Texas not playing in a BCS Bowl is worthless to them, I'm sure.

Watch the games instead of nitpicking stats. Syracuse has handled the "three headed monster" well in the last two times they've faced each other. The defensive line is just as solid as it was last year when they forced 5 Geno INTs with the key player being Brandon Sharpe who has filled Chandler Jones' shoes nicely at the LE. The problem will be special teams which has cost Syracuse big this year and is the reason they're playing in the Pinstripe Bowl instead of a BCS game.
