NT tutoring question

Sup NT, I am a tutor for math and was helping one of my kids out. We were doing a review test last night and so instead of having her do the test I made up my own word problem for her. Problem is, I do not know how to solve it mathematically and it is started to frustrate me, I told her I'd take it home but still havent been able to figure it out. Heres the problem, take a crack at it

Emily spends $153 total at the mall. She buys 6 shirts, 1 pair of sandals, and an ice cream cone. All of the shirts cost the same amount of money. Her ice cream, costs $2 less than 1/6 the price of her sandal. What is the price of each item?

I wrote the problem so naturally I know the answer, I just can't set up the equations to show her how to solve it algebraically. The numbers are easy so I'm sure you guys can get the answer, I just need to know how to setup the equations. Thanks in advance

thats what I thought but you should be able to make an equation out of the 6 shirts all costing the same amount of money. I gave the problem to one of my coworkers and he solved it in his head (b/c the numbers are easy) but he is unable to do it algebraically, and if the numbers had decimal places in it and all that you would not be able to do it in your head...

Anyone else, I still think theres a way to do it, just stumped right now
