Language, music, or mathematics? Or are they all one and the same?

Language is a key component of self - consciousness, but does that necessarily imply that we constructed language before we understood concepts such as 1 <2 or 1+ 1 > 1; or before we learned to beat out the simplest and crudest rhythms?

Mathematics is ancient. Vastly, vastly ancient from an unknown level of antiquity.

PS: Those dimensions are related to the earth's dimensions by a ratio of 1:432,000 ...It also happens to take 432,000 years for us to shift across 20different zodiacs

I think we are wading into an extremely complicated area of contemporary philosophy when we talk about concepts.

what is a concept? what work do they do in cognition/consciousness? are concepts prior to language, or is language necessary for there to be concepts at all?<-- huge debates.

Wouldn't we need some language before we can have concepts. Think of a child. Think of your own childhood. Try to remember when you first became aware ofyourself. I can guarantee it was after you had learned some language.

It's too early in the day for all this. Drop this at 3 AM and its a WRAP.

Communication came first, whether it be verbal communication or visual communication. Verbal communication implies language. However, there is the chance ofcourse that visual communication was used to do mathematics before language was actually used.

How are we defining "language"?

An ancient tribe/culture could have had one word or sound as their means of communication, but is it language?

Could there have been mathematics and music without an established language as we know it today?

i think language came first. we evolved from monkeys and they had to have a way to communicate. monkey language?

I think Language came first because humans needed a way to say "1+1=2". In order to tell someone that, you need to speak to them.

when you say mathematics, do you mean the study of mathematics, or the existence of mathematics? Because mathematics has been around a lot longer than humanshave been able to comprehend it and study it. If you want to get really technical about it, the universe can not exist with out mathematics, so thereforemathematics came before all.

Depends on what you consider math, language or music. Is knowing there are 2 sticks instead of 1 math?
