I think it's hard to say.  The reason we love (or hate) Deion was because he was so unique and over the top.  He was something different from what people were used to in sports.  Like you said, amazing combo of pure talent, athleticism, and charisma.

For a guy to have the same degree of influence, he would have to take it to another level.  Be something we've never seen before.

for a 2 sport athlete its almost gonna have to be Football and Baseball. Jeff Smadghsjlag for the Cubs could probably pulled it off.
If Tom Zibikowski decides to Box professionally then theres another 2 sport athlete.

but the chances of that happening are slim

I always see the "Could Lebron Play Football?" pieces and think how ridiculous they are, forgetting that guys like Bo and Deion actually did play two sports at once. I find it kind of strange that we haven't had anybody since then play more than one pro sport.

I'm sure at some point someone will be just as talented as Sanders and - gasp - have an ego. It's not inconceivable.

It would be cool to see a track/football superstar happening. By that I don't mean just a dude that was on the 4 X 100 team, I'm talking Carl Lewis/Michael Johnson/Usain Bolt type dominance and a Pro Bowl receiver.

I think Bob Hayes was the last to do it.
