"Spoiler[+]" is a way to hide something in a post so that people don't see it unless they want to. So if you're talking about the latest LOSTepisode, you use it to hide stuff you don't want people to stumble unto. Others use it for "comedic effect", sort of like people use"sike". That's what the guy above me was trying to do, although it seems really douchey to go through all that trouble instead of just taking 1second to vote.
