With the Oscar nominations coming up (kinda), I thought I'd start a thread for the NT fam to share their top 10 films of the year. They don't have to be Oscar standard just whatever you liked this year, but if you wanna guess who's picking up golden statues then go for it...

Here's my top 20 (based on what we got in the UK in 2012)...

1. The Impostor
2. Killing Them Softly
3. Young Adult
4. The Hunt
5. A Simple Life
6. Margin Call
7. The Master
8. Looper
9. The Descendants
10. Silver Linings Playbook
11. Killer Joe
12. Shame
13. Argo
14. Something From Nothing: The Art Of Rap
15. Here and There (Aquí y allá)
16. Trouble with the Curve
17. Lawless
18. The Raid
19. Avengers Assemble
20. Prometheus

Some of my favorites, not in order:

- Beasts of the Southern Wild

- Safety Not Guaranteed

- Moonrise Kingdom

- Looper
- TDKR
- Prometheus
- Life of Pi

Still haven't seen Silver Linings Playbook or Skyfall.

I was so intent on seeing Moonrise Kingdom. Read about it, saw the trailer, read the reviews, looked like something I'd love. Then I saw it and went "meh." Felt bad.

Felt the same way for the most part. Bruce Willis was good though.. as were the little kids. I just didn't care about them.

The Dark Knight Rises was not on this list? :smh:

Snow in da Bluff - 2012 Hood Classic

Argo at #13 is a travesty. Easily top 3 if not the best film I've seen this year.

Moonrise Kingdom

I liked Lawless but I'd probably have Safe House ahead of it. Safe House was a while ago so maybe it was forgotten.

I need to see Looper, The Master, Argo, and Cloud Atlas before my top ten would look reasonable. Should have went to see Cloud Atlas instead of The Life of PI.

Just finished watching Perks of Being a Wallflower, I didn't really know what to expect going in but wow that was some heavy, intense ****. Very good, might make my top ten.

Perks of a wallflower is the most underrated film of the year IMO. Savages also...even though the ending was a cop out.

Movie of the year? Gotta go with Skyfall

In no order:

Moonrise Kingdom
Skyfall
Safety not guaranteed
The Turin horse
Oslo, August 31st
Argo
Looper
Lincoln
We need to talk about Kevin
The intouchables

I haven't seen Django, The Hobbit, Life of Pi and Les Miserables, which should affect my list...
