NYC HEADS!!! HELP ME OUT!!!

This happened like 2 hours ago, just thought I'd share with you guys. Im 17 BTW, I nvr got in trouble by the law, nvr went to jail, nvr got a ticket, nvrgot a summons. Today I pull over on to the sidewalk to check my brakes because they weren't working rite. I stop in the middle of the block to check it. AsI start to pull off to get back on the street, I see lights and I already knew what they were gonna stop me for. I told them what I did and they said to go tocourt and fight it and hopefully the judge will throw it out. Can someone shed light on how these work? Will they tell me how much I have to pay, If I do pay afine, in court? Have you guys ever got the same thing? Can I go earlier than the scheduled day? Can I go by myself? The only reason im upset is because myolder brothers wedding is the same day as the court apperence.

What did you check the brakes on? I'm guessing it was a bicycle right?
Yea you can go ahead of time from the date that is written on the ticket. However, you should wait about 1 to 2 weeks since given the ticket to actually gobecause it takes time to get into the system. You don't have to miss your brother's wedding.

^^Apreciate It, Do I have to call and tell them I want to come earlier or Do I just go? And yes it was a bike lol, I got a summons for riding my bike on thesidewalk for 5 seconds.....smh at cops sometimes
