NYC Hotel Recommendations? Manhattan for one night

I remember I stayed at the St. James off TS once and it was cool.I'll be there in Sept. for 2 days and just need a spot in Manhattan for a night. Not trying to spend wild, just need somewhere convenient to crash for afew hours.

Hotel Pennsylvania is right across from MSG...not a great place AT ALL, but it's cheap and who really cares about the quality.

Is Long Island City safe?

Yes. It's kind of like Brooklyn in that it's becoming filled with more and more white people being pushed out of Manhattan.

Stay outside the city..in Tarrytown, NY at the Sheraton on White Plains Rd. it's only a 20min train ride into the city..
