Celtic's are chill in the East, and Miamiprobably won't do anything. Spurs think they're fine being healthy allyear, we'll see if they do something, I doubt it. Mavericks? Alwayslooking, but doubt it. Lakers? Ehh. Thunder would love a real Center, but I don't see any in their future.
I'm with you on Detroit. I feel the same way about Phoenix, too. Most of the other bad teams are full of young talent, so those two really stick out, in regards to selling. I personally think Milwaukee should be one of these teams, as well.
There are five surefire East playoff teams, and six? out West, so of course any ofthose 7-10 or so seed teams could try to make a push.
What does Denver do? If Anthony, Billups and maybe even Harrington all relocate in one huge deal, would they appease Nene, too? I doubt it. Or they !+%* with everybody and actually buy.
I still think the Bulls get an off guard, too.
Phoenix I feel SHOULD make a move, but won't. I just feel like they want to hold onto Steve for however long he has left. I feel like he's at the point where he just plays at 3/4 speed now. He knows his team isn't going to win, or even contend. It would have to take a major move while keeping Nash to even contend, and I mean MAJOR. If Amare and Marion weren't enough for all those years, and they want to keep with their run-and-gun style, there's no way they can contend unless they get a superstar. Carmelo going to the Suns doesn't make sense, so blow it up, and try to get/keep prospects.
It's sad to see what's going on in Denver. Chauncey deserves to be treated better. Carmelo is gone, that's a given. To the Knicks or they trade him elsewhere before the break. They try to package Harrington, the sucker that has to take on his contract.
. Probably be the Mavs.
. I really hope Chauncey doesn't get moved, and they can get something going there. Watching Denver play recently you can see some guys with a complete lack of effort. It's ridiculous. It sucks for Nene too, because he's a Top-10 per position kind of guy, and should be treated as-such. Hell, he may even be Top Five? Who do you take over him other than Dwight? You throw names around like Noah, Bogut, Marc but it's a stretch once you get into the realm of Al Horford, Hibbert, Okafor, Tyson, Bynum.
I don't see this trade deadline as being as active as many of us would like it to be. The off-season, sure, maybe. But first we need to get a new CBA hammered out, which should definitely change the landscape of contracts, trades, and the such.
