Anthony: Blame Nets, Not Me For Trade Falling Apart
Carmelo Anthony has reiterated that it was the Nets that pulled the plug on a potential blockbuster trade that would have sent him to New Jersey.

"I really don't know what is their mind-set. I really don't know if they can come back, if they're willing to come back and say, 'Let's have a meeting,' or they're still interested," Anthony said Saturday. "Everything has died down."

Asked if he was saying that the Nets were still an option, Anthony said, "No. What I'm saying is they said they're out of this whole Melo-Drama."

Anthony also hinted that winning isn't the only factor in his decision on signing a contract extension.

"My decision on whether to stay or whether to leave is based on a lot of things," he said. "A lot of things come into consideration. That's my own things and thoughts that go through my head and things that I talk about with the team, with the front office, with my team. That's stuff that I pretty much keep in house with my rhyme and reason and the method to all the madness."

Oughta be fun to watch the Lakers and see how they can keep up in the West as they'll face OKC twice, Denver, Utah twice, San Antonio three times, Dallas twice, New Orleans twice, Orlando twice, Miami, Boston again, New York, and ATL twice.

That's about every other game from here on out where they're going to be facing a team that will go all-in to beat them.

While teams like San Antonio, New Orleans, and Dallas all have had their rough schedule already. In comparison, Dallas has Utah twice, Denver twice, New York, Boston, New York, New Orleans twice, San Antonio, and Lakers twice.

San Antonio has Lakers three times, Bulls, OKC, Denver, Miami twice, Dallas, Boston, ATL, and Utah. (They probably have the easiest February schedule too, OKC, Bulls, and Lakers are all tough games, and they'll be on the road from the 1st to the 17th, but they play Portland, Sacramento, Detroit, Toronto, Philly, Washington, New Jersey twice, and Memphis.

NOH has OKC, Lakers twice, Bulls twice, Magic, Knicks, Dallas twice, Denver, Boston, Utah twice.

Lakers definitely have to keep with their schedule and keep good positioning, AND keep their bigs healthy.
Kevin Durant calls out Chris Bosh
OKLAHOMA CITY -- Kevin Durant drew a rare technical foul for jawing with Miami's Chris Bosh in the first quarter of their game Sunday. And he wasn't done talking.

When Durant was asked after the game about the altercation, he said: "There's a lot of fake tough guys in this league and he's one of them."

Durant says he was upset because Bosh got involved in his conversation with a teammate. Bosh says Durant was telling James Harden that next time, he should dunk on Bosh. Bosh had fouled Harden on the previous play to prevent a fast-break layup.

Both Durant and Bosh were called for technical fouls. It was Bosh's second of the season and the first that will count against Durant, who also had one rescinded earlier this season.

Bosh says Durant "stood his ground, and I respect that."

Judging by what OKB just said, Monta should make it over Westbrook andthe rest of the guard reserves looking at their individual honors
Where do you come up with these things?

Nobody said it should go by points per game.

It doesn't exactly seem like the rough part of it is over, does it?

The Lakers have to play a good half-a-dozen games where they're playing high-caliber teams that can very easily upset them.

But yeah it's not as clear-cut that the other teams contending for high playoff seeds have had harder schedules up till now.

Dwight has 16, 14, 2, 1 and 1 in under 16 minutes (at half) against the Cavs.

The Cavs' starting frontcourt (Hickson and Jamison) is 0-10.

Gilbert looks REAL dumb right now with those off-season comments.
