I will be surprised if dude isnt released by the end of the week, or at least placed on waivers or at least benched for middle relief work.

Your memory must be failing you. LaRussa & Duncan love $$%!+* closers. We used to run that sorry douche bag Isringhausen out there for years. Our only hope is if Franklin gets injured. My fingers are crossed he pulls a groin or a hamstring.
Yes, you`re right.......wishful thinking again

I figured he would blame it on the fact that the offense didnt score enough runs again.

!%!%+* up part about it is that me and my moms BF were talking about it in the top of the 9th, hoping they didnt put franklin in.

We were relieved when we saw Miller in the game...........and then saw franklin warming up

.

When franklin started running out, we were both like, OH NO.....Here comes the game winning home-run.  we were surprised it wasnt on the first pitch, but it might as well had been.....HR to center field...smh.

man the pirates have came into town and put in work on the reds. This team looks sluggish as hell tonight.

always a good win, when it's 1-0 final score and it's cold at Wrigley. We need to break past .500
Ryan Franklin loses Cards' closer role!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SWEET JESUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  IS THIS REAL LIFE???????????????????/  WOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TONY FINALLY GREW SOME BALLS AND PULLED HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Cardinals have bumped Ryan Franklin out of the closer's role after four blown saves early in the season.

Manager Tony La Russa said Tuesday that changing Franklin's responsibilities might help the 38-year-old right-hander get back on track. He didn't say who might replace Franklin in the ninth, but the top candidate probably is Mitchell Boggs.

Franklin is 0-2 with an 11.57 ERA in six games and one save in five chances. He was 27 for 29 on save tries last season.

Franklin says he's happy with his pitches but blamed himself for poor pitch selection. He gave up a game-winning, two-run homer to the Dodgers' Matt Kemp on Sunday.
