Titans have big group going to Eugene today for Mariota: Ruston Webster, Ken Whisenhunt, Jason Michael, Blake Beddingfield and John McNulty.

... As for others, Bucs DPP Jon Robinson is with Jason Licht, Jets DCS Rex Hogan is with Mike Maccagnan, Skins GM Scot McCloughan is solo.

Usually I'd say stay away from RB in round 1, especially with a deep class like this year, but at 27, yeah, I take that chance with either back.

Then just pull defensive guys 2-7 to bolster that unit as much as possible.

I can't see Titans or ******** taking mariota..

Doesn't fit what whisenhunt MO

And can't see ******** going that route after rg3.. Dude loved cousins then mccoy and is looking for his very own red rocket

Can the Cowboys pass on either Gurley or Gordon?
Either one of them dudes with that OL... :hat

Which is the better prospect long-term? Gurley looks like a generational guy on the level of AD to me... Is Gordon close to that?

IMO if chips nose wasnt so open on Mariota and teams werent salivating for the come up he would of fallen

I'm still convinced chip is bluffing.. But dude has been pretty adamant about not giving up a ton for one player.. He's gone as far as to say he hasn't even discussed any potential scenarios with other teams

It was reported we had a private workout with hundley after we had Bradford in for his announcement

I read somewhere that Gordon doesn't run up the middle enough, may not fit the Dallas O.

Grain of salt of course.

But if Gurley gets that knee right long term, he's the better back and an awesome fit behind that Oline.

the only teams in the top 10 I could realistic think would take him on draft day, is the jets.. maybe the bears

but even the jets I doubt with their recent experience with geno

I think Washington goes with a pass rusher.. randy Gregory, shane ray or fowler

The problem is, his tape also shows those same issues.
If he never showed those same issues on the field, no big deal.
Teddy's tape was near flawless, so the over-analyzation of his pro day was definitely scramble panic
Agree here.

You want to root for a kid like Mariota, but I still don't think he pans out. Never know how it unfolds though. We'll see.

Exactly.

I really wish he wasn't visiting with us on Monday. I don't want anybody in our organization getting any ideas just cause they think he's a great kid.

I think the Browns are gonna trade both their 1st rounders for him. Then end up with another guy that can't throw the ball, but just won't ever find himself in rehab :lol

Fascinated that media members DM me to say, "I can't publicly say what you did but I agree." Avoiding backlash and hot takes is common.

I had some highly respected evaluators with opinions on Manziel last year that never saw the light of day because they weren't popular.

Thing is, those were the people who were right. And the same thing is happening with Mariota/Winston. Public fence-sitting, private honesty.

what's he saying about the two? 8o

He said Jameis is and will be the better quarterback and it's not even close.

.com guy, one of the Smart Football contributors like Chris Brown, etc.

I don't know his actual name, or who runs his Twitter feed.

The site itself says someone named Joe Bussell (not sure if he’s just a contributor, or the main guy that runs everything)

But just glancing thru his site, he predicted the Pats may have a “Super year” and on the Winston/Mariota take, he praised Marcus fairly well, but when it came down to it, he dropped this

The Verdict

It’s pretty simple. Jameis Winston displays all the traits that NFL teams want on the field and could probably start week 1 for whatever NFL team drafts him (provided he hasn’t done anything stupid off the field to prevent that). Marcus Mariota will have a good amount of necessary development of his skills to make himself a quality NFL starter but his ceiling is tremendous.

Ignoring the off-field concerns (which NFL general managers don’t have the luxury of doing), Winston is on a completely different level than Mariota. His skill set is more of a translation as opposed to the projection of Mariota’s skill set to the NFL. Winston’s skill set may just make him worth the risk with the first overall selection anyway.

Or

I have some concerns about Mariota’s game. He has to improve his accuracy, anticipation, and he must learn to throw the ball into tighter windows. These are two traits that take time, effort, coaching, and reps to internalize so that they’re an automatic reaction and not a laboring decision. If he can learn and improve these aspects of his game, Mariota has the ceiling to be great.

He had some other tweets where he had concerns about Geno Smith, and people called him racist, and then he said the same kind of things about Manziel, and people railed him for that too. I think that’s why he’s on his “opinion’s kept quiet” kick today.

So I don’t know if he’s any good, smart, or otherwise, but I remember what Le’Veon was sayin about Kiper, Mayock, McShay sayin what they want about their guys, and the intel they are given by other employees of teams, agents, etc, how they are just mouthpieces for certain prospects, and don’t know **** about others. I also have learned from the guys that run the site I work on, the NFL has a full on scouting service that gives them all their information, not guys that work for ESPN or NFL Network, etc. I wish like hell I could get my hands on one of those books, or even find out some of the names of those scouts, but I haven’t found a damn thing anywhere on them. Don’t even know where to begin looking. :\

Yeah it would be pretty terrible if the NFL Draft grades players get prior to declaring was from Kiper & Co. :lol :lol
