Official 2015 NFL Draft Thread

I think the Bucs wait is moreso to see if someone is willing to pawn their future to move up vs waiting for a mess up from anyone on their board

Clowney's HS career & his entire Freshman & Sophomore years in college had him pegged to go #1 entering his jr year

After all that I read over Fisher's upside I knew then Reid would take him #1.
In all honesty Clowney's monster hit on that RB? In college made everyone go crazy & put the #1 pick label on him. We knew that FEB. that he was going #1.
That's why he didn't work out with any other teams after the Texans.

But you're right, no formal announcement made on either. It's all assumption at this point.

I mean he was considered the best defensive prospect in ages, he was penciled in at #1 for a couple years. That hit was just icing on the cake.

Funny thing is, if someone does trade up to 1/2/3, I don't think it'll be for Jameis or MM8. It'll be for Leonard Williams.

I need Jameis to go #1 and Leonard to go #2 then we can get to work with Jacksonville or the Raiders

Well his junior season was a "down year" compared to the the other two years. I'm sure he knew he's go top 5 and was holding back.
Well none of that matters in the NFL, we'll see if he was worthy of that #1 pick. Not looking so good now.

Y'all think Mariotta will translate quick to the NFL style offense? Hope his career doesn't turn to RGIII #2.

depends on where he goes and what he's asked to do.. also what personnel they have in place

i think Jameis' off the field issues are kind of overblown.

Are they concerning? Yes, but he's not getting busted for weed, a DUI, or anything like that.

it's just stupid **** 21 year old college kids do. he'll be fine.

I always hope the Jags pick the player I least care about at the top of the draft since I know we'll never hear from them again. So this year I hope they pick Andrus Peat or Bradon Scherff.

wonder what it'd take for the Jets to move into the top 5 & take Leonard or Fowler

minimum first and third, and that would be at pick 5.

i wonder if anyone even wants the #1 pick this year.

seriously.

i think Winston will be a bust.

and if you need a QB you have no choice but to take him at #1.

feel bad for Buccs.

Find it hard to feel bad for any team w/ the #1 pick in the draft, in a relatively strong draft at that

if i had the #1 pick this year i'd be trying to flip it...even if i had a giraffe at QB

Report: Police Seek To Question NFL Prospect In Pregnant Woman's Murder

Baton Rouge police are looking to speak with former LSU offensive lineman and possible first-round NFL draft pick La’el Collins in relation to a pregnant woman’s death last week, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Police say Collins isn’t currently considered a suspect, but believe he had dated 29-year-old Brittany Mills, who was shot to death at her home last week. The Baton Rouge Advocate had previously reported that police believe Mills, who was eight months pregnant, knew her killer and opened her door to the person:

Mills, who lived in an apartment complex in the 200 block of Ship Drive, was found dead when police arrived about 10:38 p.m. Friday but was rushed to a local hospital, where her unborn child was removed in unstable condition. Authorities declined to identify the hospital the woman was taken to but said the infant’s condition had improved to stable and the baby was expected to survive.

According to Schefter, some NFL teams are hoping to learn if police determine that Collins was the father of Mills’s child.

Gonna miss the ever classic Radio City Jets fan reaction to their pick :o .

The Falcons, who must improve their pass rush, must compare Fowler vs. Beasley, although they’d likely have to trade up to land either one of them.

But after you crunch the numbers – and we know the Falcons are heavy into analytics — Beasley is the stronger, faster and more explosive athlete.

Fowler is 15 pounds heavier and can play against the run at 261 pounds.

Beasley, who finished his career with 33 sacks, can attack on third down-and-long situations and will have to show that he can hold up against the run.

He has faster times than Fowler in the 40-yard dash, 10-yard shuttle, 20-yard shuttle and three-cone drill. He also has a much higher vertical and broad jump.

He’s much stronger that Fowler, who did 19 reps of 225 pounds at the combine, while Beasley had 35 reps.

But the scouts seem to prefer Fowler over Beasley.

A scout on Beasley: “I think he is a one trick pony who played better as a junior than he did as a senior. ….He’s going to be drafted more highly than where I would take him. I think he’s so one-dimensional and that one dimension is not as elite as I thought it was. . . .He is not as strong or physical as (Seattle 2012 15th overall pick) Bruce Irvin, who I thought was a reach.” –Nolan Nawrocki’s NFL Draft Preview

A scout on Fowler: “Watch the East Carolina game at about the 10:30 mark and see what he does to the pulling guard. You watch that play and say ‘wow.’ He hits the pulling guard so hard he looks like he’s out cold for a second. The kid goes down like a boxer hit (him) with a roundhouse. (Fowler) is very violent in the way he plays the game. To me, he might be the best player in the draft. He’s fun to watch.” –Nolan Nawrocki’s NFL Draft Preview
