Maybe being shown the door by the Dodgers will motivate Belli to actually try and fix the trash his swing has become.
Honestly, I don't think we really know how much the injuries have impacted him. Just seems like it's bigger than a swing/approach thing, but I hope I'm wrong. Just the most strange fall of I've seen recently, but baseball is tough as a mf...Former MVPs like Yelich have fell off too, so it just shows that all of these guys work but the game requires more at times...

Yeah. Baseball is sort of unique in that way. Like that MLB pitcher who somehow completely lost the ability to throw to 1st base - forget his name.

If this is it for him in a Dodger uniform, Bellinger is appreciated in my book. He never reverted back to his 2019 performance. But he had some clutch postseason at bats in 2020 and 2021, and his glove was very dependable.

But I’m not all that upset at the move. His bat was nonexistent for long stretches way too often and he was an automatic out a lot of times. He’s still young so I’m sure there will be teams out there interested thinking they can fix him, and I wish him well wherever he ends up. But I’m not against them shaking this core up a bit.

MFs won 111 games and got bounced first round, this is definitely a look in the mirror moment. Yeah they’re resetting the tax situation, but is also seems like they’re playing the waiting game and entering the season with 80-85% of what the team will be, then addressing more evident needs at the deadline.
