Na not when there is an actual clear cut mvp. Those years there weren't so they had to gas up that other stuff to make certain candidates more appealing. The fellow from Greece is the correct answer this year.
i think harden gets mvp and bucks coach gets coach of year

Hardens numbers are impressive OF COURSE

The issue is his style of play manipulating the rules and playing like a ***** to the point where defenders are so scared to swipe at a ball or put a hand on him. How he snaps his neck back giving himself whiplash at the slightest contact. How he drives in the paint searching for arms he can get tangled up with. Just a ***** made *** way to play the game

dont think hardens foul antics really negate his merit in the eyes of voters because he won it last year

It was his turn last season and they really couldn't ignore the Rockets team success last year.

in regards to dray receiving the max, very few teams would/should be willing to offer him that. he and the warriors are the epitome of a mutually beneficial relationship. this warriors' team plays 100% to his strengths. he can be a facilitator on offense but doesn't need to score, set hard picks and cut to the rim on off ball screens. his inability to create his own shot or hit open jumpers is completely muted by steph, klay, and kd. no other team has a luxury where one of your max players can't consistently score. conversely he helps make the warriors significantly better defensively. leadership on defense, ability to switch on everything, being willing to guard 5s despite being a 3/4 tweener sized big. warriors getting even more pummeled in the paint and out-rebounded without dray.

crazy thing is, the warriors are probably the only team that realistically should offer dray the max but not sure if they need to.

Harden has an amazing first step
Great core strength
Beautiful step back

Which makes it even more upsetting that he has to pull these antics to get him even more space to operate since defenders have to back off from fear of him baiting them into a foul

Lakers get the 7 seed and I can see them going to the conference Finals. That’s invaluable experience for the young cats.

Anybody that thinks the Lakers should tank for a better draft pick is an imbecile.

TBH, while his focus on drawing fouls is annoying, all the dribbling Harden does may be an even bigger issue for me. I think the prettiest kind of basketball involves a lot of passing, the ball touching multiple hands and finding a good shot or cutter. Dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, step-back is not that....
