Kobe was pretty damn selfish too. Mamba Mentality has just become this thing that has taken on this life of its own, and he won enough that he is able to control the narrative a bit more in retirement.

If you win you don't need to control a narrative. The rings speak for themselves. Kobe worked great with other great players. Him and Shaq hated each other and still had chemistry on the court. Him and Pau clicked immediately.
