People do have a somewhat unexplainable hate for Ben Simmons here that goes beyond the flaws in his game. I’m not sure what it is (seriously) but he attracts a lot of negative attention.

it’s weird because dude is exactly what most people want in an nba player. a guy who shuts up and puts his head down and just plays the game like a robot.

I been peeping that ppl still posting raw stats to shoot down the narrative that Bron lost a step
...The dude could average 20 something, 7 and 7 in his sleep but you lying if you watched yo games last season and didnt notice a difference in his overall play...either he really aint care or he started to slip

Ben Simmons doesn't get close to the flack in here as Steph, Bron, KD, PG, Russ, CP3. Where does all this unexplainable hate reside at? Dudes call a spade a spade and that's the fact that he refuses to shoot jumpshots in NBA basketball games. There's no hate in that.

Last season Lebby had an attempted game winning shot mashed by Mario Hezonja. Don’t think that happens to prime Bron.

None of the Ben negatively is unwarranted though. The only negative thing anybody ever says about him is that he's scared to shoot. He is. That's not hate.

I just feel like a lot of people dislike Ben Simmons. Not criticize his game which is more than reasonable, just dislike him.
I don’t have a problem with people disliking him I’m just curious why. Maybe it’s because he’s a light skinned pretty boy?

People critique Russ for what is perceived as being a contrived personality. Bron catches immense flack for non-basketball **** in here all the time. We can go down the list about non-basketball **** that people criticize these guys about. That's what happens with social media and the NBA being a 24 hour news cycle. Simmons isn't even close to catching the most flack for that. The most I see people clowning him for in here is usually the Kardashian stuff. I really don't think Ben Simmons is disliked because he's a "light skin pretty boy".

Ben’s only flaw is shooting. It would be hidden more if he could play center or have 4 shooters around him like Giannis. So he’s either gonna have to develop a jumper or never maximize his potential in Philly.

Yeah again I’m not talking about people criticizing him not having a jump shot, I just notice Ben Simmons has a lot of people who dislike him
and very few fans/defenders on NT for a year 2 all star. It’s unusual. I would say it’s because he’s on Philly but Embiid has tons of fans me included.

I don’t dislike Simmons. But it’s hard for me to get my head around how someone with his physical gifts, who has spent so much time in his life playing ball, lacks maybe the most fundamental skill in basketball, so I find him a little frustrating.

Yep the current biggest bust of all time who is scared to have people even see him play basketball, the thing he gets paid millions of dollars to do, is completely comparable to Ben Simmons who’s been basically an All-Star player since the second he touched the floor last year and never misses any games other than a freak foot injury his rookie year where his own teammate came down on his foot. I see exactly where you’re coming from.
All I know is if Ben Simmons, who most would think would act too cool to wear some shooting gloves like that, is trying things like that then he is serious about improving that part of his game. We’ll see if it works.

Doing it in a game is what matters...I prefer relying on my own eyes to see if he put in the work than someone's second hand account
Like someone else just posted, there was secondhand accounts of Fultz putting in work, that he'll be different the next time around but come the regular season, his jumpshot was more of the same.
