By this argument Rui Hachimura isn't Japanese because Japanese culture can't accept that a black man is Japanese. But not only was he born and raised there, but he's actually biologically half japanese and his name is Japanese too.
Whether white Germans consider Schroeder to be German is less important than the fact that Schroeder considers himself to be German.
If he wants to claim it, no one else has the right to argue otherwise. That includes the white Germans that you claim that won't accept him if he wasn't a baller, and that includes black American men that want to say black men can't be European.
Nationality is a social construct. If you want to say that nationality is only valid by blood then everyone posting on this board aren't Americans.

Rui is different because he is technically half Japanese with an actually ethnically Japanese parent.
Let’s all agree there is a difference between nationality and ethnicity.
Schroeder and Giannis are both by German and Greek because they have a passport there.
Neither however are ethnically European. They are African.
99% of Greece nor Germany would claim them if it wasn’t for their fame of basketball. That’s all I’m saying.

Dennis Schroeder is German. Extremely proud of this young man. Wish he would've picked the USA but when you have his credentials you make the best decision for yourself and your family. He is also very well rounded. Here he is playing the piano.
