Official 2023 San Francisco Giants Off-Season Thread - Jung Hoo Lee signs with SF 6-years $113 Million

The free agent outfield list is down right dreadful. That still doesn't give them a pass its not like its a new problem.

When will Gary Brown be ready :rolleyes

25 years old. Hasn't shown as much progress as the FO would like. Didn't get a September call up even when we were well out of it and pitiful. How hard can it really be to overtake Blanco and Torres? Can we call Gary Brown a bust?

Yes. When Sabes gave Pagan that contract pretty much revealed how they felt about Gary Brown.

When was the last time Giants had a solid homegrown outfielder? I can't even remember a single one. I think Schierholtz or Marvin Bernard are the best I can think of. :x :{ Sooo many busts ie todd linden, john bowker, etc.

With all that said, what would it hurt to show fans what they've been asking for? If they saw how he plays, good or bad, they'd finally shut up about it.

I miss Freddy. I think he could've been great with Buster, Pagan and Scutaro to hit along side him. I liked his swing. I'm sure he just felt tossed to the wayside when he got traded. If he were to come back, I could see a surge. Like Voggie.

I wouldn't mind Josh Johnson coming over. We need to shore up the starting rotation again and I would be ok with Voggie leaving. I can't see us paying him again.

We've won 2 titles doing it this way, and our hitting came around a little bit last year. Not enough RBI in some months, but we had some clutch hitting going on.

freddy lewis had such a pretty swing very similar to jason heyward. unfortunately lewis never turned into a good player :{ and josh johnson signed with the padres.

bronson arroyo was on 95.7 the game and he reeelly wants to be a giant.

My bad yeah Arroyo would be a nice fit as well. Forgot for a sec. Just no Voggie.

Can't make the same mistakes we made with Aubrey, Torres and other "I like sf a lot" players.

Give Arroyo a shot to be our new hippie.
Official: Four with San Francisco Giants hurt in Arizona crash
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- A Scottsdale, Ariz., fire official says four people with the San Francisco Giants' minor league team were injured in a Tuesday morning crash.

Battalion Chief Rod Thompson says the four were taken to a hospital for injuries suffered when their passenger van collided with a car near a hotel.

Thompson says one person's injuries are considered critical and possibly life-threatening. He said players appear to be among those hurt. No further details are immediately available.

Giants spokeswoman Staci Slaughter says she's unable to provide any information yet. The Giants conducts training in Scottsdale for its minor league teams. The club's major league team also conducts its spring training in the desert city.

Hopefully it won't be the same story like the past years, but sadly I think it will be.

For the time being, he is definitely in midseason shape.

I just cant believe we are really going to enter yet another season with not making any improvements to the offense, small or large. The fact that it looks like our left field situation is going to be a Gregor Blanco-Jaun Perez platoon makes me want to vomit.

When will our f****** front office learn? Wen you have a platoon situation, that means you dont have a real player for that position.

This sucks.

Drew Stubs anyone?

It would be nice to at least be mentioned in a trade rumor or two, figures we just sit on our hands again and hope player x hits for 270 10 65 :rolleyes

Not the players faults. If the team is too cheap/smart enough to realize they need a legit LF, what can you do. Nobody should be surprised.

"Giants GM Brian Sabean says that if infielder Pablo Sandoval comes to spring training in good shape, the Giants would consider signing Sandoval to an extension, MLB.com's Chris Haft tweets."

No chance the Dodgers and Giants can make a deal for Matt Kemp huh? Wishful thinking, I know. But IDK why the Dodgers are supposedly shopping him.

Too much money in the Dodger outfield and one of those guys will have to sit between Kemp, Ethier, and Crawford. If they don't want that money to go to waste they'd have to sit Puig which we all know isn't happening.

Don't really want another lefty in the lineup but at this point I'd be down to overpay Loney and toss Belt in the outfield it won't happen of course. Sadly we are probably 1 of 4 or 5 teams that care more about a 5th starter than a starter LF.
