Filmed on location in Cape Town, South Africa, and Los Angeles, 24: REDEMPTION stars Emmy Award winner Kiefer Sutherland along with new cast members CherryJones, Robert Carlyle, Gil Bellows and Academy Award winner Jon Voight.
After sacrificing everything for his country, Jack Bauer (Sutherland) is wanted by the U.S. government and now stands to lose the only thing he has left:his freedom. On April 30, producers began scouting locations in Africa in order to film the prequel in the upcoming weeks.[sup][12][/sup][sup][13][/sup] The original plan was to shoot three days worth of scenes in Africa and then have Simi Valley, California fill in for the location.[sup][1
[/sup] After realizing it would be difficult to fake, it was decided to shoot the majority of the movie on location inCape Town, South Africa.[sup][14][/sup] Filming took place from June 4 to June 20 with the final scenes being shot in Los Angeles, California.[sup][15][/sup]
On July 13, director Jon Cassar revealed on his personal website that principalshooting for the prequel had been completed and post-production hadbegun.[sup][16][/sup]
