This victory is extra special for me. Personally, beating England means more than winning a World Cup to me.I played competitively in SoCal and later in college. As I reached higher levels, I constantly had English coaches. They were always extra hard on us Latino players because we held the ball too long, dribbled too much, and didn’t play the "organized" style they wanted. Many Latino players have faced this bias, but I can't help but feel it cost me a chance at a longer playing career.During my last tournament with one specific English coach and with several Division 1 scouts present, he played me (argentinian/guatemalan) and another latino player (salvadorean) player completely out of position. He constantly did things to sabotage us, including keeping us out of some drills abd making us run extra laps at practice. I ran into this coach years later at an LA Galaxy game and he apologized for being extra hard on me.
Present day
Now, as a competitive coach in the Bay Area (side gig), I see the same patterns. Most elite teams here are run by English coaches. Once again, they favor taller, faster players and implement training techniques popular in England rather than Latin America. A few years ago, I was let go by an elite club in the South Bay because a British director didn’t like my coaching drills simply because they were different. I focused on technical skills and didnt clamp down on individualistic/styled moves from my players. I leaned heavily into CONMEBOL and River Plate training techniques. Prior to my final season, he told me my contract wouldn't be renewed. I said fine and that season my U13 team only lost two matches and won the NorCal State Cup. He tried to reconsider, but I told him "we good" and left for a rival club.
In world footy
English and American pundits always dismiss Latino players, just like they did this week with Argentina. They (ESPN FC table) claimed Martínez and Romero were the weakest defensive duo (disrespectfully chuckling) , the SKY1 guys questioned if players like Paredes and Tagliafico could still cut it at top clubs, and dismissed Enzo's quality. I'm glad Argentina shut everyone up. Ultimately, these pundits always question why certain players look average in the Premier League but look world-class for Argentina. What they dont understand is that we all have a chip on our shoulder.
Latino teams and players they say are scrappy, dirty, passionate, clever, and want a street fight. Keep disrespecting us... whether we win or lose against the spanish sunday...we bloody owned you and your sport today.

Every single one of the English “legends” were mad disrespectful. They said it was gonna be easy. They said it wasn’t even close. not sure where the arrogance comes from really. They haven’t won a damn thing. You would think as former players they know that Argentina would feed off their bs

Unfortunately, Kane CEO and the top shooter for his gang. Rice and Anderson aren’t breaking any lines with their passing, neither is Jude. Helping your team progress the ball into the final third is far from handicapping your team.
