Angelus leather preparer beforehand....Angelus Black paint(NOT Flat Black), add Angelus Duller (2drops)....Painted 2 coats.
Yeah..np... I like the reg Black and using duller, because you control the amount of shine...Flat Black is too dull in my opinion..Thanks for the heads up, I have been using Angelus flat black on all the AJ1 customs I have done. I will be sure to get a regular black if I ever get my own pair of Banned mids.
Maybe it's the lightning but that sticks out like a sore thumb to me. It's shiny.
Mids don't really have release dates. When they arrive stores can put them out to the floor for sale. Will these ever drop in stores? And if they do, when do they usually have em in stock after the "shock drops"?
No doubt, there is an unwarranted sheen, and perhaps it’s accentuated by the lighting of my space. FYI, I used the deglazer, a couple coats of Flat Black, and Matte Acrylic Finisher. It looked on point after the paint, so the sheen is a product of the matte acrylic finisher despite my assumption of it giving the opposite affect.Maybe it's the lightning but that sticks out like a sore thumb to me. Use reg black and add duller! No need for finisher...No doubt, there is an unwarranted sheen, and perhaps it’s accentuated by the lighting of my space. I should have noted that these photos were taken immediately after each process. I’ll give it 48 hrs to fully dry, and hopefully that will allow it to dull. Although, it’s not looking like it will. IRL, the shine is not bad especially if you’ve not paying attention to it. When I throw on the laces, it’ll become less noticeable. I’ve got plenty of AJ1 Hi’s in which each panel is inconsistently shinier than the next, and those are factory.
If you’re in doubt of doing this, consider the affects of the finisher. Perhaps the addition of duller is appropriate. I recall seeing a YT video in which a guy took a Matte finish rattle can to it after using the finisher. Perhaps, I’ll try that. Nonetheless, I enjoyed this small project. Of course, I’ll be posting on feet pics in the near future. Good luck with yours if you decide to try it!
I used finisher to protect the paint. Do you not apply anything? I'll sacrifice 1-for-1 match on the sheen over poor wear-n-tear over time.Use reg black and add duller! No need for finisher...
Edit, see you used the matte finisher....either way it looks fine. Only really noticeable due to the quality photos. I don’t think anybody would notice or care in person.I used finisher to protect the paint. Do you not apply anything? I'll sacrifice 1-for-1 match on the sheen over poor wear-n-tear over time.
Agree!!!I used finisher to protect the paint. Do you not apply anything? I'll sacrifice 1-for-1 match on the sheen over poor wear-n-tear over time.
First time ever painting anything on a shoe. All I did was two coats of angelus flat black. Nothing else...
Need one more pair for to customizeFlat black angelus does the trick pretty well.
Would anyone know of where to find an authentic pair?the Melody Ehsani collabs are dope too. the quote on them is golden
