Official Air Max 97 Thread

Ordered the barely volt ID last night. Will update when they get made/delivered. Hoping under four weeks total turnaround!

Didn't see these posted yet, but here are the final samples of the AM97s from the Nike On Air competition winners. Those Wave ones came out better than expected - might be my favorite one.

Why does the area above the Nike sign logo look weird, almost like shoe is moving during the taking of the picture.

Did the silver bullets come with a slight cloudiness to the air bubbles? I'm trying to find a pair with a super clear bubble but it seems like they already have some scuffs on the bubble straight from the factory.

Cloudiness depends on age and storage. Wouldn’t be surprised if DS 2017 pairs now have some.

The design was destined to fail. I feel like that was the best they could come up with. I mean, the dude out three heel pull tabs  those materials/wave were never going to work.

Yeah that original design was gonna be tough make look good. I feel like they ended up capturing the idea pretty well though. Original design was gonna have people walking around like they had one of those shower loofahs on their feet.

I wonder what the turnaround time is going to be for these... My Kobe AD iDs took almost two months!

Hopefully not too long... I ordered Tuesday, got the email tonight that they started making them. I don’t have great patience

Also, I noticed that there's no mention of reflective hints or 3M on NDC's description on these, which makes me hope that the iDs will have them too!

Air Max 97 Origins

Nike’s revolutionary Air-Sole unit made its way into Nike footwear in 1978. In 1987, the Nike Air Max 1 debuted with visible air in its heel, allowing fans more than just the feel of Air-Sole comfort—suddenly they could see it. Two years after the Nike Air Max 95 brought visible air to the forefoot, the Nike Air Max 97 arrived with the very first full-length unit. The shoe made a huge splash in the running world, as anticipated by its ripple-effect design lines. It’s still making waves over two decades later.

Huge disappointment for the wavy am97.
I’ve been wanting them since his concept with 3 pulls tabs but the final version looks awful. They also look like slip ones with now 6 pull tabs.
