Lineup dropping tomorrow so I figured we should start this thread now so we have a place to discuss. Guns N Roses & LCD Soundsystem looking like for sure 2/3 headliners. The rest of the lineup has surprisingly been hush. Not too many spring tours announced with surprisingly large April West Coast gaps.

Weekend 1: April 15-17
Weekend 2: April 22-24

Ticket Cost:
GA $349
GA + 10x30 Camping Car Spot $434
GA + Hotel Shuttle Pass $399
VIP Pass $799

Other Accommodations:
10x15 Personal Camp Site: $85

Nearest Airport:
Palm Springs Airport (22 Miles)
Ontario Airport (92 miles)
LAX (144 miles)

Questions:

I live out of state. How do I get to Coachella?
You have options.

1st option: Fly into Palm Springs ($$$) & have California friends pick you up on the way to their campsite/condo/house/hotel
2nd option: Fly into Palm Springs ($$$) and take a taxi to Coachella. Walk up to your friends campsite and camp with them.

3rd option: Fly into LAX/Ontario & have friends pick you up and take you to their campsite/condo/house hotel
4th Option: Fly into LAX/Ontario & take a train to Coachella. Walk up to your friends campsite and camp with them.

5th Option: If no one you are staying with has a car (I take it they don't live in California) Land at your airport, get a rental car and take it to your hotel or house

If there is anymore please let me know and I'll put it here.

I'm coming solo, what do I do?

Get online and try to join someones campsite or else your best option is a single camp spot but those are small and away from the car camping (aka the party)

How much do hotels cost?
You can always get a deal but be prepared to pay a lot. The 3 closest Motel 6 hotels are already sold out. The nearest one is 19 miles away and is $142 a night so yea. Prices have changed but I remember getting a 3 bedroom condo for $400 a night. And yes most places have a 3 day minimum during that weekend. So I suggest getting your spot (if you're not camping) the same day you get your tickets.

Cut to the chase, what's the best option for out of towners in your opinion?
Depends:

(I have friends who live in California going) Coordinate with them. Have them pick you up from the airport and do whatever they do.
(I have friends who aren't in California going) Land at the same airport, grab a rental car and a camping pass or a hotel/hotel shuttle pass.
(I don't have any friends) Get on the Coachella forums, find people who need room and find rides.
(I don't have any friends and I'm scared of the internet) Land in Palm Springs, get a personal camp spot, get there early Thursday and make friends.

Pros/Cons of Camping vs Hotel/House/Condo

Camping
Pros: You can walk to the festival, the party is always going on, cheaper, don't have to drive intoxicated after the festival, roller derby and Yoga mornings, Constant smokin.gif
Cons: Shower wait, hot *** sun, no comfortable bed, less energy come Sunday, limited food options, can't take your car out to the pre and after parties (must use cab or don't go)

House/Hotel/Condo

Pros: Air Conditioning, Comfy bed (or floor if you're crowding a room), Refrigerator, Easier access to the million pre-parties and after parties going on that weekend, Constant :smoking
Cons: Expensive, Driving after the show, traffic to and from the show

How many people can fit in one car camping spot?
Technically as many people as you want. Ideally,….. 4 people

Any other questions?

I feel like a lot is lacking. I'm trying to get hype but it seems so inorganic. This is like EDC lite

Meh.

They're running out of artists to headline.

I mean. Calvin Harris? Just go to Vegas

Headliners are pretty bland tbh...... Beach House is worth the price of admission alone for me though, going to shed tears of joy when I see them again.

Also, this may be a dumb question but when do tickets go on sale again? Wednesday?

lineup looks cool. nothing special tho. they def could've gotten a better headlining act than Calvin Harris for the closing night. hell, they coulda had Ellie Goulding close the festival. I wouldnt be mad at that. she's one of the biggest pop stars in the world right now.

That line up is terrible. Do not waste your money y'all. Just stream it on YouTube.

First year not getting tickets since 2010. Glad I skipped out. Hand full of acts I want to see which I'll probably catch them at localchella.

I actually love the lineup in all honesty

Attending Coachella brings so much more to the table than just music

Edit- Yall are trippin' if you think this lineup 'sucks', look beyond the headliners

This lineup is downright awFul. Drizzyd you are my dude but it has nothing to do with only looking at the headliners. The entire lineup is trash. Very disappointed.

Everyone on the undercard who I would want to see I've already seen :\

Best thing about this lineup is Underworld tho

Underwhelming all around. No simian, chemical bros, massive attack no care. No fall of Troy, retox, baroness, converge, twitching tongues, American nightmare, hesitation wounds etc.. No care. I wish the hip hop headliner theory held true with Kendrick or even Eminem. Calvin Harris is a joke.

lineup been getting a bit worse each year. already got in on presale though

Woops updated the 2015 thread and didn't see this one. Good looks SHWAP.

I have my passes, but I might just sell them. Not excited about the headliners (Calvin Harris, b?), and the artists I'd want to see I've seen already.

Rumors are that GnR ate up Golden Voice's budget, so that left them less money for the undercard artists.
