OFFICIAL COMIC BOOK THREAD

Read the Ultimate Universe crossover with Miles and IMO, feels just like a cash grab to write this side story. I could have done without it.

How do y'all store your floppies? Just recently picked up a filing cabinet to use, and I don't know why I didn't do it sooner. It's a 36" wide lateral filing cabinet with 3 3 drawers, and I can fit 4 short-boxes in each drawer. Almost seems like it was made for it.

What do you collect and/or pull?

I still use short boxes and stack them in the closet.

Really need to downsize and re-bag the issues I want to keep. My LCS used these high quality bags that was very close to mylar, but it wasn't. Need to find out what brand of bags those were.

Kind of bummed the Ultimate Universe is ending. I may slow down on my pulls after this.
50/50 on the new Hulk title. Current run has been good, but I'm slowly losing interest.
Surprised about the news Joshua Williamson is heading up the new Iron Man and curious where the story goes. Haven't read any Iron Man since Fraction's run lol.

For floppies, it's mostly silver and bronze age stuff. The biggest chunks of my collection are Fantastic Four, Doctor Doom stuff, anything Jack Kirby.

Just sold off/dumped like 6 short boxes worth of stuff for way less than it was worth, but freed up a lot of space, and I won't miss it. I've gone much more to collected editions/omnibus for everything other than my main floppies, and I still have too much.

Just signed up for the DC app last night.

Enjoying it so far. I get a week to try it but it seems good value for the volume of stuff on there. I'm a bit surprised that there's not some sort of reader mode though - on my ipad mini I have to zoom in a bit to read some stuff because it's basically just an image of the printed page.

I am honestly surprised at DC's K.O event. Pretty good choice by Snyder by using lesser known characters involved in the story than the usual Big 3. (I mean, 2/3 are still involved, but yeah lol). Justice League, Fraction's Batman run, and the Absolute universe have been consistent.

Marvel has been meh to me. Fantastic Four and Ultimate Universe has kept me interested. The current X-Men arc is not really interesting and leaning towards dropping it all together. I am pulling the current AoA X-Men title by Simone Di Meo, simply because I enjoy their artwork a lot.

Regarding Indy titles: Kirkman's Energon Universe has been entertaining and the current GI Joe arc has been good. Something is Killing the Children has been fun. Kirkman's Skinbreaker is interesting. Artwork is really good.

Gonna slowdown in 2026 and get rid of a lot of stuff that's taking up too much space.

Do they have a Netflix like platform?

I’m not interested in building a comic collection.ive built it up 3X. :(

And I gave them away after a few years.

Who are you referring to? lol Kirkman and the Energon Universe stuff? If yes, I believe they are making an animated series some time in the future. Not sure where it’ll be streamed through. Probably Prime.

When I say “stream” I just mean an all digital platform where you can read all of these incredible stories.
