Official DragonBall Z Thread. R.I.P Akira Toriyama. You will be missed

Yeah kind of. There's that thing where Shenron can only bring someone back once but there's always loopholes.

Don't think DB will ever be deep like that where impactful characters die.

Shoot I don't even want to watch Boruto anime because that means they're gonna kill off Naruto :(

Thought I was the only one who appreciated the 17 vs Piccolo fight :smokin

Such a good fight :smokin

What eipsode did we see 17 in?

17 will be back as part of da tournament squad alongside his sister 18 and bruhlaw Krillin :hat

Can't wait to see the family dynamic with Marron and 17's kids (he has three) if the writers are smart enough to capitalize.

Also a potential flashback episode of how Lapis/Lazuli became 17/18 :eek

Man I wish I could write Super, I would make all yall proud.

I think the series would benefit from someone dying and actually staying dead. The problem is no matter how strong the villain is, we all know that the dbz fighters can be brought back to life if necessary. Naruto benefited from losing key characters (Ex: Jiraiya) and that is something we have yet to experience in DBZ. Does anybody agree?

I understand the logic behind the idea and killing characters off can certainly be used to bring about crucial change in the story/characters. Jiraiya's death is one example of this. I've thought for a while now that the series would have been better served had Goku stayed dead after a certain point. When you've got the Dragon Balls though and people dying all the time from unnatural causes it's kind of inevitable, because readers will question why the characters don't just wish X-Character back. The original limitation of people only being able to be revived a certain number of times was perfect to counter this, but then he threw in the Namekian Dragon Balls, which didn't have the same limitation.

It really was. I enjoyed Piccolo vs Imperfect Cell as well. That entire Super Namek business was dope and I thought Piccolo was really displaying how he was a few cuts above the other non-Saiyan Z-Fighters.

I remember when they killed Goku off at the end of GT

Was the best thing to happen to the series

King Kai is dead and never getting revived b.

Always thought that that was him becoming like another Shenron since he absorbed the dragonballs

GT sucks as a whole, but it has its good moments. The finale with Goku, in my opinion, was one of them. In general, I liked how the final arc made a point to focus on how the Z-Fighters had overused the Dragon Balls, then showing that there were real consequences for doing so.

^^ Yeah that was pretty cool.

DB does need some more deep things like that to happen :lol

Yep. Even as a kid, when I was watching the start of the saga, it had me like "Yes, yeah this is some good **** right here. This makes sense and the Z-Fighters have really screwed up and are getting called out on it". I thought that was a pretty good message in general and really served to show you how things had changed over the years.

Half the ******* dragons were jokes though

Agreed lol which is why I said GT was still terrible overall. A number of good ideas, with terrible execution.

GT non canon anyway. AT just gave them the ok to do it haha.

AT kinda corny himself though but eh lmao.

Goku Black was dope.. SSB x Kaio-Ken was dope too.

where do you all rank baby? amongst dragonzball z/gt/super villains?

As far as major villains go, as in the characters who were the final villains of an arc/saga, off the top of my head i'd say:

Frieza
Vegeta
Cell
King Piccolo/Piccolo
Majin Buu
Syn Shenron/Omega Shenron
Bebi
Super 17

This isn't counting film villains and I suppose you could argue that other characters, such as Captain Ginyu or Mercenary Tao deserve a mention as well. Again, this is just off the top of my head and I wasn't trying to look back through the entire series for every single villain that showed up :lol

I thought Baby was pretty cool. Especially since he took over Vegeta..

I have a question though..

So since Gohan has been going SSJ.. wth happened to his "Mystic" form? lol

I wasn't a huge fan of any of the villains after Frieza.

I liked the concept of the androids, but not how played out. Didn't like Cell, didn't like Buu.

I'm more of a fan of the movie villains. Turles, Broly, Lord Slug, Garlic Jr.

Frieza, OG King Piccolo, Tien, Vegeta, Radditz are my favorites.

i got to put raditz on top of that list if we're starting with Z. He had goku and piccolo work together for the first time if you dont count garlic jr, exposed gohans hidden potential and power to everyone, and identified what a sayain is and what they do.

loved dead zone as a kid..

my boy garlic jr. had that immortality when he went from ****** to this....... dude was huge

I never felt like Bojack did much of anything to be honest :lol He sits around looking cool for a while, his minions do most of the work, then he's stomped soon after by SS2 Gohan.

Yeah he just looked cool :lol

I think Cell is my favorite villain though.

Movie-wise prob has to be Broly.

Janemba/Fusion Reborn my fav dbz movie tho lol

Cannon - Super Buu

Movies - Broly/Janemba (Not the fat one)

Favorite moves - Trunk's burning attack

The ending of the Broly movie was one of the biggest let downs
