Official "Going to Vegas in..." Vol. II "It was time"

Planning a trip to Vegas this October with a few of my friends to celebrate our birthdays.

How much spending money should I try to set aside?

What are the hotel rates that time of year?

Any events I should look out for?

Lol didn't mean it like that. Don't know anything about EDC, but keep hearing and seeing about it. Is it like a mix of Coachella meets Ultra meets Burning Man?

More or less. People say it's all about the music but then show up and do tons of drugs or are just looking for hookups.

So from the first few pages I got some nice updates. I'm going Friday-Sunday at the end of the month and our original plan was Marquee/Hakassan but now I'm thinking to add Light, never heard of that place.

Ecook, opinions on Hakassan and Light (the two I've never been to). I apologize if it's already been discussed but it's a long *** thread and I tried to read the first few pages lol

^ two of the newest megaclubs and most talked about right now in vegas. The visuals at Light are insane if youre into that. If youre into yambs you cant really go wrong at either.

I can't speak on Light as I've not been yet but as far as the other clubs

VIP: XS = Marquee > Hakkasan
GA: XS > Hakkasan >> Marquee

Monte Carlo regular room is small. If your group is like 5-6 people you could do connecting rooms there, but it sounds like you ain't too worried bout being crowded.

The casino in Monte Carlo is whatever, nothing special. There is a nice little food court down there though. IMO you're better off gambling at mgm right across the street.

Also, Tahoe on the 4th is :pimp:

Cool thanks. Ya, the 4th in Tahoe is super fun. Idk if my liver will handle it though this time around.

I might be sounding dumb as hell, but isn't gambling the same price everywhere? :rolleyes

Fremont street is coo doe cuz they still got a few machines that spit out coins :smokin

Nah the fancier/nicer spots (Wynn, aria, etc) have higher minimum bets as opposed to the not so nicer spots (bills/IP when they were still around, circus, harrahs, downtown). Min bet also depends on day of the week and time of day

Dunno if October varies, I went a month ago for the Pacquiao fight with my bro and it was $1500 total round trip+hotel for 3 nights at MGM from Chi for the both of us. I think we booked via Travelocity. We almost stayed at Aria or NYNY. Aria is legit but I'm glad we didn't stay at NYNY (prices are all w/in a few hundred dollars of each other). There was a fun atmosphere at MGM on fight night. Def stay in the strip.

Spending money depends on your financial situation but I took $1500.00 ($500.00 a night) and that worked out well. I'm not much of a gambler and the fight tickets were paid for in advance so it was mainly spending money (food/entertainment).

We hit the tables and caught the Bulls game at a bar the first night (we had money on the game) and then went to Rhino's (strip joint) later on. Next night we hit the tables again, went to the fight and met some people there that had VIP at Hakkasan so we met up with them after the fight (ol boy claimed that his tab was like $4K at Hakkasan) - we had Double Cross vodka and beer all night - and our table was next to the new junior welterweight champ's table. The last day we walked the strip, did some day drinking and hit the tables at night.

It was a solid weekend but the plane trip back was dreadful. Def gonna do it again next year tho.
