Official Jeremy Lin Thread.

4 of those turnovers came in a span of 2 minutes during garbage time before he was taken out, he had one of his better games today.

beginning of the second half is garbage time now ...

this is the stuff that gets me ... the kid is good but don't make any excuses for him ... they were terrible turnovers ...

the kid ain't perfect ... he's shown the ability to score, great vision, BUT ... he is a turnover machine ... that doesn't disappear overnight ... he has to play more and work at it ... he will play better teams that will feast on it ...

pulling for the kid, he played well ... he showed the ability to control the game w/o scoring ... a very big step in his development

Too many box score readers. All u gonna hear about is 6 turnovers tomorrow from detractorsIf he had a great left hand and didn't ever turn the ball over he wouldn't have been an undrafted bench player

hardly anything compared to the people comparing him to every one from Jesus to Tebow to Isaiah Thomas to Steve Nash, John Stockton, hell HLN even had Charles Oakley call in and dude said Lin stacks up with the great guards of his era. I don't think Oak believes that though, he was just put on the spot being interviewed by a woman who clearly doesn't really follow sports.

People who detract are not even really detracting much.. Most of what you see (not all there is still plenty of exceptions) are saying this guy is good, but TURNOVERS, TURNOVERS, TURNOVERS... That is a valid point of contention. The first half 9 assists, 1 turnover. THAT'S GREAT BASKETBALL.. But when you end up with 6 anyway that is a problem..

Just like Lin has to adapt to turnovers. Teams will begin adapting to him. Teams will begin to play him better as time goes on.. Maybe not this week or next month, maybe people won't even figure it out this year. But it will happen at some point.. And if he is a flash out of nowhere 6 turnovers with teams having trouble figuring his game out because there is a small sample size, it will get worse when teams figure it out if he doesn't limit those turnovers.. If say next year, he still regularly puts up 10 assists, but 6 turnovers. Will cost just as many games to be loses as 10 assists will be contributions of wins.

Nonetheless I hope he figures it out. Basketball doesn't get too many stories like these, so it is great to hear...

Yes, he commits a good deal of turnovers. He's taking more chances with the passes than your average PG, but he'll be fine. Let's not act like Jason Kidd (Future HOF) was never one time turnover prone.
