Yea the whole "its the playoffs that matter" stuff is old. Going into the playoffs against a team that you haven't beat all season, that has blown you out, outmuscled you, out hustled you, and just *@% all over your life doesn't lend to much confidence when facing them. The nuggets will be riding sky high. Even before the season started they believed they could beat us and now they know they can. Their confidence will be at 110 percent. Lakers shoulda really doe something to strengthen their bench or so something about the PG position, jesus.
Lakers won the title in 5.

you could also say celtics swept us in 2008 and then beat us in the finals the same year
the fact of the matter is this, regular season games don't hold weight in the postseason.Originally Posted by NobleKane

But when it's obvious that both teams are up for the game it can lead to some predictability in the playoffs. People continue to cite the Magic sweeping the Lakers, but if I recall correctly, Jameer Nelson was hitting shot after shot in crunchtime in the regular season and was all out of sync in the finals because it was his first action in months. Yes, I know Vlad Rad was getting major minutes at the time of the first game in LA, but I don't think he was playing down the stretch of that game. The Magic exposed some Cavs issues in the regular season and then it played out the same exact way in the playoffs.Originally Posted by denni5themenace
