Yea, I might mess with the HP Beats/Envy line, but other than that it is well established to stay away from them. Everybody has seen the SquareTrade chart, 25% of their laptops fail within 3 yrs. I don't mess with laptops w AMD processors just because I don't know what their comparative to the Intel equivalent speed is. For example, T4400 is about the minimum you want to get right now if you buy a laptop and are just an average user, that's just regular dual core. AMD equivalent, I have no idea so when I'm evaluating the price point I have no frame of reference other than googling it every time. Do they have something out that is seeing the intel i3, i5, and i7s? Speaking of which, I wish I would have found out about cedarpc.com like 3 days ago and I'd have an i7 Dell Studio on the way right now. They're middle of the pakc in the survey but I have never had problems, I still got one I had since high school (about 9 yrs) that came through in the clutch when I was without my goto one and travelling. It has like 2gb of ram and I think a Celeron M, but to check my mail, niketalk, directions and youtube on the road that is good enough.

But I'm having some with my graphic card and I may have to eventually get a new. Has anyone ever gone through that, are they expensive and difficult to install on your own? Would it cause my laptop to over heat and such?

i have a 15' MBA maxed out w the ram. i think it was worth the price. idk about the pros though, i guess it depends on what youre using it for.

I dont think they are worth the price, especially the new ones. You have to add on the cost of USB, HDMI and other adapters for the laughable port offerings.

I need some input on a new laptop. I have an older (2006) MacBook that needs to be replaced. I've compared the MacBook pro and several PCs with the same configurations and have decided that I get more for my money going with a PC. I've never owned a PC and I am worried that it will be obsolete within a couple years or it will slow down with a bunch of viruses. From what I've read, PCs have come a long way from what they use to be and in some reviews they actually surpasss some Apple products.
I decided on the Asus Zenbook UX303UB Notebook.
-2.5 GHz Intel Core i7-6500U Dual-Core
-12GB of 1600 MHz DDR3L RAM
-512GB SATA III SSD
-NVIDIA GeForce 940M (2GB)
If anybody owns or has owned an Asus computer before I would appreciate some feedback.

My laptop for the time being is an ASUS Q501LA. It has treated me well for the past 3 years. I think ASUS provides some of the best bang for your buck computers on the market today. Only downside is the chiclet style keyboards are a pain to type on

great choice, for the price its really worth it. i only recommend asus laptops. u can go with the updated 2016 version as well but thats more expensive. and personaly i dont think chicklet keyboards are a pain to type on. they are awesome

Any recs on a decent budget laptop? Just from skimming through a few articles it looks like the Asus chrome book flip C302CA-DHM4 is the way to go. Am I on the right track?
