I'm sorry, Westbrook is my freaking dude but the Thunder can't win a ring with him. He will never be a true PG.

Westbrook wasn't the problem at all tonight, sans for giving up 2 3s to Jeremy Lin late. Someone needs to tell KD to play like himself and stop trying to be LeBron. Dude was out there all night passing up open shots trying to get his triple double

I wasn't really going by tonights game. It's something i've always thought.

As a Thunder fan, how do you truely feel
about him taking more shots than Durant on the season and basically every game it seems?

Talk to KD about it and tell him stop passing up shots. Thabo took more shots than KD tonight, because KD decided from before the game started he wants to get a triple double. Dude had like 6 shots at the half. In the 4th, KD and Russ shooting. I'd like to see Kevin Martin get more looks instead of just being a decoy to space the floor, but I am not Scott Brooks.

Ideally, if you could put Westbrook's demeanor/mindset into KD, and KD's into Russ's, it'd be amazing. KD would average like 60ppg

But yea, no doubt Russ takes his fair share of bad shots, and his % is down because he isn't finishing at the rim (or getting fts) at the same rate as years past.

The whole "takes more shots" argument is overblown... and that's not just because I'm a Westbrook fan. People fixate on the number when it's the type of shots that matter. If Russ shoots more than KD and half of them are quick pull-ups when he's not in rhythm or contested, ill-advised jumpers... THAT'S a problem. If he's blowing easy lay-ups or wide open shots he should hit, then it's "better". One is a player out of control... and one is just a bad shooting night

Plus, Durant's incredible efficiency means he'll get his points and make his impact but he won't need 25 shots to score 28. He'll get to the line a ton, he'll hit his 3's, etc. And this has been a story for two seasons now... if it was such an issue, wouldn't it be affecting the win/loss column? Their offensive efficiency? Durant's numbers? Or is it only important when OKC loses and Westbrook takes more shots?

No one denies that Westbrook can get too trigger happy at times... or he can turn a bad shooting night into a terrible game when he adds turnovers, dumb fouls, etc. But people going right to the FGAs as the main reason for loses aren't getting the whole picture.

Well that's my exact point. When I check the box score after games and I see Westbrook has taken a heavy amount of shots or took more than Durant, I have watched his game enough to realize most of the shot he does take are those awful pull up's, contested 3's, etc.

& I'm not trying to blast Russ because as we all know, when he is on, dude is elite. No question about it, it's just that he takes so many shots that are not in the flow of the offense.

So when I personally bring up the fact he shoots more than Durant, I'm saying it because I know how awful some of the shots are.

I actually want to see how many shots on average he has taken compared to someone like Derrick Rose.

shouts out to Steve Nash, 4th all time in assists tied with arguably the best point guard- Magic Johnson

Think the whole KD needs more shots argument exists because if he can score 33 on 18 shots...

For their career, per 36, they're at the same FGA but Russ takes a couple more FTs. Rose has a higher true shooting percentage for his career as well. Of course, it's hard to directly compare because Rose doesn't have someone like Durant, but for their careers they take roughly the same amount of shots and Rose shoots a better percentage

I think that's because Rose plays more near the rim than Russ no? Russ likes to pull up and take bad 3s haha
