Because the city of Sacramento sucks doesn't mean the people of Sacramento should pay tax dollars so an NBA team can be there.

It seriously makes no business sense for the Kings to be in Sacramento over Seattle.

The NBA isn't going to expand to Seattle because NBA owners aren't going to want to divvy the pie up more than it is.
Again, I'll forgive your ignorance..... Sacramento has ZERO tax dollars involved in this deal.

Business wise? Keeping the Kings here would raise ALL NBA franchise price tags across the board since it is a small market (Jazz, Pacers, OKC, Grizz, the majority of the NBA). Having a team worth ~$525M in Sacramento>Seattle (especially in 1-sport town>4-sport town)

Having a team Seattle will increase the soon to be negotiated new NBA TV deal
Possibly, but in terms of TV market size, Sacramento and Seattle are in the same bracket. So shouldn't be too big of an issue.

Especially when having a team in Sacramento worth $525M, and raising EVERY single franchise's value>>a bump in TV revenue (that is already expected)

I guess it just comes down to me not understanding why you are trying to convince me that I should let go of the Kings.

There is nothing no matter how insightful it is I can type on this message board to change that and as a true fan that's the way it should be.

But from the outside looking in they should move.

Sacramento does deserve a team more than Indianapolis and Charlotte though.. Seattle should get the Pacers or Bobcats

That's the move that should be made.

Something else that rubs me the wrong way about this Kings business.

The Kings where relocated from Kansas City. They wouldn't be there without a city having its team taken from them. Now its possibly about to happen to them and there is this outcry.

The Sonics were founded in Seattle and were there for 30+ years.

It's totally different situation to me.
Fair point, but in KC they were the 4th biggest sports draw in the city behind the baseball Royals, Chiefs, and Tom Watson.... while raking in around 6k-7k in attendance per season. If Sacramento was like this then I'd agree, sure you can point to the last 4-5 years but the owners had already began alienating fans years ago. KC losing the Royals was textbook in why the NBA chooses to relocate teams.

My biggest thing is, what has Sacramento done to lose the Kings?

Is it wrong for Sacramento to actually want the Kings to stay here indefinitely? Take me as a child for example... I moved to about 8 different cities as a child. Should I be ok with moving almost every year? Or should I hope to have some sort of stability eventually?

One day, I hope that Sacramento can become a Seattle, a Dallas.... and I 100% believe that this will start the revitalization of the city, starting with the birth of an actual urban core in a non-existent downtown. I'm sure you've been here, or at least heard about what Sacramento is like.

If we, as a city, can fund this project while being financially responsible (as I believe we are), then I don't understand what the issue you have with the term sheet we have in place.

Every point you've tried to make about the agree upon terms the city has submitted to the NBA, has been wrong and erroneous, so please point out what you don't like about the deal.

Dude the city shouldn't fund any of the project and honestly I've never been to Sacramento in my life but I can tell you building a basketball arena isn't going to revitalize a city's economy no matter what.

How did Curry only finish with 31? I'm pretty sure I saw him score 50 in the 10 minutes or so that I watched.

Mark took him out plus he got poked in the eye.

He mentioned something about resting him n his ankle...this is when they were up big in late 3rd early 4th

Did not post in here during the weekend, but my observations:

Golden State's fans/crowd during the games with extreme high energy like those at a Duke Men's basketball game.  Just loved the atmosphere of the people and their intensity with the game.

Thunder held it down on Saturday night without Westbrook, as they hope to do it again tonight.

Nate the Great with some unbelievable play helping the Bulls to a 3-1 lead after Saturday.

The Spurs and The Heat... on to the next series.

Steph Curry as a "Silent Assassin" making big plays and shots while keeping his cool.

Carl Landry filling in the gaps during the abscence of David Lee.

Dwight Howard is not Shaq and doesn't have to play like Shaq in order to be a dominant big man.  Just needs to be himself on and off the court like he was in Orlando, but we'll see how that goes.

I love how everyone basically forgot that the Lakers didn't have their top 4 guards playing in this series. Not saying they would have won if they were all there but still, people celebrating like the Lakers were favorites and they choked.

Who cares.

As far as I'm concerned the Lakers haven't had a game since Kobe blew his Achilles. All hopes went down w/ him so anything spoken in reference to the lay-kurz was a waste of time.

Better luck next year.

As someone who lives in Seattle you are spot on. Bobcats should be the one moving. But oh well I will take whatever we can get

I never stated it in here (maybe I did once) but they really looked like they had a shot to make it to the WCF.

:|

Yeah, they had me fooled too. I didn't say they would make the WCF, but I thought they had a shot. That was before Gallo went down, but still.

Just can't believe how wrong I was about Mark Jackson. I NEVER expected this type of success from him and the team.
