But if they couldn't even get their site to run correctly on arguably their biggest release this year, I honestly don't think they'll be able to filter out the "bots"

No, you may be okay.  Depends on how wide your foot is. If you have a wide foot, youll thank going .5 up.  Otherwise, it may be a little too long or loose. But at the end of the day depends how you like your fit. Go .5 down if you like a snug fit.
