I went to Zappos to look at the exact same shoe, but I noticed on the back of the shoes, they say "Handmade in the the USA", whereas in the link above, the shoes say "Made in USA."

I'm guessing the ones sold on ebay are fake. They're sold at a much cheaper price at $109.99 compared to the price tag of $150+ on zappos...

Anyone got any leads on the J. Crew x New Balance 998 Infernos in a 10.5? I rarely see these pop up on eBay.

Longshot - but you could try calling up a Canadian J. Crew store and see if they can stock locate for you.  Not sure if they would ship out - but worth a shot if you've been hunting for a while.

In the June - I posted this up to the thread:

"the J. Crew at Eaton Centre (downtown Toronto) seems to still have 998 Infernos (998JS2) in stock.  Saw a sz 11 on display - didn't ask about sizes and they said they never got my size 13.  Think retail is $184 CAD + tax."

I don't see it there anymore - but as I said - LONGSHOT.

Not usually too indecisive on picking colorways to purchase, but I am currently. Torn between picking up the 997 Navy and the 997DBR for my first 997. Anybody that owns both like one more than the other? Appreciate any help.

I have both, and i marginally prefer the DBR. The perf suede toebox won me over.

But i feel they are both very versatile staples in my sneaker closet. I usually wear the NV with Chinos and the DBRs with Jeans. DBRs and khakis look odd to me.

I don't own both (ust the DBR), but both are dope. The DBR has slightly better material (hence the price difference). My choice was made when I found the DBR for about the same price as the NV and also because I had some other navy colored shoes in my lineup. You don't see too many nice brown shoes come along so it was an easy choice for me.
