Yessir, they come with a pair of purple laces.

are the 997's comfortable?

They're ok but not the comfiest. The heel is quite elevated and feels kind of stiff. I prefer the comfort of the 998.

Hiked up to Fern Lake falls in Rocky Mountain National Park today. Went a total of about 5.5 miles and these worked pretty well. These fit a bit big TTS so had to lace them up really tight .

Grey days need the cream laces. Cream/purps need the white laces.

Yes compared to other NB's my 991's do feel much narrower, not uncomfortable at all but just a bit akward.
