The Concepts branding on the retro C-Notes ruins them, imo. I get why they did it, but it looks out of place.
Agreed. Doesn't kill it, but definitely brings them down a notch.

Yeah they could have done better things to differentiate these from the OG's.
I think they should have replaced the heel logo with the Concepts intertwined "CC" logo, or even had the "Concepts" writing on the side subtle, in brown instead of white.

The branding coupled with how much suede has been cut off from the heel definitely give it knock-off vibes to me. Also two color changes that are subtle, but noticeable. The little plastic piece and the heel on the OG are more true to the theme, the copper/gold and green on the $100 bill. New one looks like more of a standard brown.
Most people excited about these already know they were Concepts, so branding is pointless for those. But looks like they are trying to get their name out to all the new NB fans as well, so stuck it on the side. Embroidered tongue or heel branding would've been my choice.

I’m trying to convince myself to like them because it’s such a good color way but I hate the new, old midsole. Aside from the minor changes mentioned above this is still the worst part imo.

the colors being off and the new midsole are what make them a turn off for me
i have doubles of the OG, so i'm good, but i wouldnt say no to the current one at a lesser than retail price
