Bad officiating has never hurt the league. It generates as much engagement as anything else for them

Only time it moved the needle when it was replacement refs and that was only to go back to the...originally hired incompetent refs

#68 didn’t verbally or physically report
He walked over to the ref with another player at the same time another player was running on the field

#68 was lined up at left tackle
So the defensive players had no clue #68 was supposedly eligible

Even with that, it seems clear the ref ****ed up. You can see 68 go to the ref and talk to him. 70 runs in and never gets to talk to the ref. The ref just ****ed up and got the two numbers switched up, which is why they threw the flag.
